I guess some problems really do solve themselves.

A rare bread indeed.

Very proud of you! Shake some shit up, man.

It's just so interesting seeing these guys just completely misread you over and over again. And they're so confident about it!

Also the Ford Mustang capital of the world!

The projection here is just off the charts imo.

As is yours! Will is pretty well-known for never criticizing Democrats or liberals, so your point is well-noted.

Tbh I think you're blinded by whatever this 2 minutes hate session is going on in here re: Will to actually think about what the article's saying past how you can maybe use it to make will look dumb. The article is about the electorate, and why the electorate made the decision it did.
comment in response to post
Ah ha, this is why the author of the article demonstrated the predictive power of the alternate set of indicators by running an historical regression analysis against past election outcomes. If this is a rational decision by voters, why vote for the guy under whom these very indicators were worse?
comment in response to post
I don't even disagree here! But things did get better under Biden, and so it's kind of confusing that people voted (by a small margin) to reject his VP and party!
comment in response to post
The article is about why voters made a decision that is seemingly at odds with what many economic indicators say, which seems counter-intuitive. One can either accept that voter behavior is more complicated than a simple reaction to material circumstances, or one can invent new indicators.
comment in response to post
The problem with engaging in bad faith is that you start to assume that everyone else is, too. Of course I have. Confirmation bias and One Weird Trick To Understand The Electorate aren't compelling unless you've got ideological blinders on.
comment in response to post
So voters made a decision to vote back in the guy under whom the economy was worse? Sounds like voters are less interested in material reality and more interested in vibes.

Just so frustrating. Those that seek power are often the least-suited to the wielding of it etc

It's ego, and perversely, diffusion of responsibility. They trust themselves to be able to determine "the right time to strike" so much! And if they miss it, well, who could blame them? Even their experts didn't see it.
comment in response to post
The desire for authority without responsibility is a core tenet of the MAGA movement. Perhaps they should watch one of the many Spiderman movies for a refresher. I remember something like that coming up there.

Ah yes, will stancil, noted fascist sympathizer lol

Ah, the "Internet is not real life, despite the fact that the vast majority of Americans spend a large amount of their time on and receive their understanding of the world from the Internet" argument. Well played.
comment in response to post
In what world is this not victim-blaming. I mean, seriously. "When you post like that you are asking for it! You should post more modestly."
comment in response to post
Hard to ignore death threats tbh

It's literally the LF self-destructive our ouroboros cycle over and over. I fell victim to it too, to my shame. Maybe one day some of these folks will realize that taking these issues seriously means substantive self-criticism more often than it means reflexive excoriation of the other. Ironic.
comment in response to post
So proud of you, by the way. You're an inspiration, and I mean that.
comment in response to post
Uh, lol.
comment in response to post
Do something about it or step aside for those that are willing to.

They are burning down the government, and you waste time on this? Complicit.
comment in response to post
"The president is attempting an illegal takeover of the federal government. We are fighting him in every way we can." There, strategy done.
comment in response to post
What are you actually doing about it, Chris?
comment in response to post
Heh, nothing to say. Pathetic.

Like looking into an infinity mirror. Terminal irony poisoning.
comment in response to post
Huh, guess it works at any level of abstraction.
comment in response to post
People spend hours and hours every day on their phones engaging with social media. It's more real than real now. I don't see how anyone could realistically disagree with your argument here.
comment in response to post
I mean, almost. It was a very close election!
comment in response to post
They need to, but they don't. So do we sit around and bemoan that fact, or adapt to it?
comment in response to post
How'd you do in your race?
comment in response to post
Nope, just the Nazis and those that sit at the table with them.
comment in response to post
Won't somebody, anybody, please think of the Nazis?!?! Gtfoh
comment in response to post
Nazis aren't people.
comment in response to post
Do they though? How can you say that with the last election having played out as it did?
comment in response to post
FWIW, he has engaged in direct counterargument, many times. Is Matt even on Blue sky?
comment in response to post
Seems to have worked out pretty well for trump and the Republicans so far.
comment in response to post
Isn't one lesson from this last election cycle that actual underlying reality doesn't matter as much as truthiness and vibes? Isn't this whole thing an opportunity to drive for real change by riding that wave?
comment in response to post
Do you suppose that they (or people like them) are not doing so already?
comment in response to post
I'll take that as a no
comment in response to post
Lol, pathetic. Any original thoughts in that head, or are you just a human tik tok bot?
comment in response to post
Much different political environment back then. He had just lost an election by a lot, and had just attempted a failed insurrection. He did issue a ton of awful pardons in any case. It's kinda pathetic that you're playing the aggrieved victim here tbh. Typical Trump supporter.
