Is anyone on here also on Storygraph? I'm switching to that since Goodreads is owned by Amazon and so far I love it. The graphs bring joy to my nerdy heart. #booksky

Former DC Metro Police officer Michael Fanone has a message to the Oath Keepers founder who was just pardoned. We share his sentiment.

While he ends capping prices on life saving meds, and end WHO, European scientists move on: Cell-gene therapy for diabetes! This is worth a watch. Listen to Michael Fanone after the trash is done speaking. Pass it on.

this morning, my local librarian recognized me by name, and it made my day get to know your libraries and defend them

In 2020, it became apparent that a lot of people had been asleep in science class. Well, in 2025, it’s become quite apparent that they slept through history class, too. #Resist

Minnesota's exports surged to $6.7 billion last quarter, over three times the national average growth rate.   Nearly 200 countries look to our state’s workforce to put food on the table or manufacture their goods. The world recognizes the value of doing business with Minnesota.

A federal judge has struck down key parts of an Arkansas law that would have allowed criminal charges against librarians and booksellers for providing so-called “harmful” materials to minors

The Christmas Tree in Space...

Please, if you are able, support Independent bookshops. They are the literary & social hubs of our high streets and communities. Without their continued support, we simply wouldn't be around to publish . Thank you.

PSA ... we've upgraded the security system in the home library ...

The futures we did not arrive at do not disappear. Like the clouded glass floors of libraries designed in the 80's, our imagination of what the future looks like is always also part of our present. I think the same is true of political and social projects. Nothing goes away.

Hello Less Hateful World

Twitter status: patched

If libraries don’t care about books and reading, how do we expect our communities to? We need to rethink phrases like “more than just books” and what kind of message that sends. When we say “just books”, are we inadvertently sending negative messaging about the value of books?

I’m a children’s selections librarian, which means that people think I read books all day but instead means that I read about books all day and then use that info to buy books for over 90 libraries.

I’ll be staying inside books for the next four years. At least their villains are contained to a page.

Absolutely stunned that Hulk Hogan passed over for AG

Hi folks. Well Twitter has got ever shitter, so I'm now gonna be posting more & more regularly here. Thanks to everyone following me already! For new followers, I'm an environmental campaigner & author of 3 books: Who Owns England, The Lost Rainforests of Britain & The Lie of the Land.

Most Texas school board candidates who support book bans lost their elections

Don't look at the news Don't look at the news Don't look at the news (Looks at the news) Oh, for fuck's sake

Me, looking at books in the charity shop: I used to have this and I've got no idea what happened to it, maybe I'll buy it Steph: You donated 500 books last month, this was literally your copy

New here. Looks like an introduction is in order I’m a 54 year old progressive who hikes and reads and desires hope amid this darkness. Blue state resident and proud! Interests include: Ireland, nature, historic fiction, fantastical fiction, laughter and good humans.

The best thing I've done for my mental health in years has been to start spending two hours a day working from my local library. Those places have healing energy.

You might not know this but your local library probably has an app where you can borrow ebooks and audiobooks, for free! Some have apps that let you borrow digital comics too. My library subscribes to Borrowbox and it's great, I constantly have 2-3 audiobooks on loan. Support your local library!

It’s really pretty cool that one thing you can do to support people you like is ask your local library to get their book because it doesn’t cost you anything, it helps them, and the librarian gets to know someone actually wants to read a book and not just use the computer for Roblox

I know everyone says this, but the amount of STUFF libraries have available digitally is just breathtaking. My library system here in Baton Rouge has thousands of Udemy courses available. And they're free! They're so free. Libraries are cool. Librarians are cool. Support your libraries.

May I suggest a book for the impending collapse? "Surviving the Future" by Shaun Chamberlain and David Fleming has been a comfort read for me lately. A gentle but prescient book about what it means to create community amidst societal collapse. Highly recommend for this moment.

Remember the eclipse back in April? Since eclipses are rare I practiced camera settings and timing... then changed travel plans, watched the weather like a hawk, and ended up driving quite a bit. It all worked out. I'm proudest of this image and would love to do projects like this more often.

All those books about the declines and falls of empires that I never read.... do they cover how dumb things were? I was unprepared for how dumb things were going to get.

I made a thing. Use it well.

Libraries are precious and beautiful and must be defended

thought of the dayyy🤔

I need a course on gentle parenting under fascism, because my cortisol levels are not ideal for bedtime shenanigans/delays.

This time he’s changed. He promised he won’t beat me.
