tbh it always surprised me Netflix didn’t really push harder into lifestyle after Marie Kondo/Queer Eye blew up.

going rogue and bringing back every Kristin Chenoweth TV project that was cancelled before its time

In my mind they’re on a spectrum from Diana (abject chaos) to Pippin (spectacular, necessary, release the secret filmed version already)
I was getting a bit dispirited with the run of concerts blighted by sound and tech issues, but you can feel there’s been a drive towards quality recently.

Arceus: it is the past and the mechanics are different bc things are primitive and people are still figuring stuff out
Z-A: It’s the future but everyone just likes to screw around I guess

It was a wildly improbable fluke how little recasting the films had to do in general across 8 films. I would bet on this show being… less so.

honestly it’s her best solo single since like… maybe Applause? the times have been trying

towards the end I found myself wondering if it was impacted by the writers’ strike or if it was just meant to be… like that

For those keeping count, this is Russell T Davies’ sixth TV show about gay people living in Manchester.

I went through a phase in my early 20s where gnocchi was part of a solid like quarter of meals I ate, so v excited for you

same… in the end I shelled out the £3.99 to skip them!
(+ lmk what you think when you’re done!)

This is quite niche but I just devoured Out for Blood, about one of the biggest theatrical failures of all time, and the bizarre choices that led there

That’s interesting to know. Does result in some discordance in their messaging to donors though! ie

I do wonder how much supply issues are lack of system capacity vs lack of donors - I’ll often check when there’s a low blood stock alert and find (as now) that there are no free slots near me for weeks!

The producers told them all on camera and played some of the reactions on the final Uncloaked! But yeah, wish she’d got to do a big reveal

it did feel very “I’d love to work with Ted Danson again, let me come up with something for him”, but also, I just never feel like extra Ted Danson is a bad thing

When Sounds launched, they started uploading the News Quiz to podcast platforms with a month-long delay to try and force users over, which remains I think the funniest thing you can do with your topical news quiz.
(It is now only a one week delay, and I remain stubborn)

Think the lack of countries in Asia taking intermediate steps suggests it could be a wait after this one.
Could see Japan introducing civil unions via a legal route in the next decade, though.

I think them trying to counter for this is why the contestant mix has felt a bit off this year - they boosted the ratio of people who, politely, seem to have basically no understanding of game theory / tactics, to counter the risk of metagamers breaking the show

Absolutely fantastic. (Though I did not get to escape the day job)

was wondering if they’ve changed up their contestant criteria this year to cut down on meta-gaming players wise to production tricks.
It does feel like more of them are conventional reality tv types playing a pure social game, which is not the most interesting

Was surprised how much I enjoyed it!
It could have been half an hour shorter, with a lot less Steve Pemberton, but still somehow probably the best musical biopic thing since Rocket Man

ill-advisedly went to see it while somewhat sleep deprived yesterday, and can confirm that is objectively the correct mental state for it

Not in any way similar to BG3, but Astro Bot is by far the most fun I’ve had playing anything in years.

I thought it was veeeery safe + felt like it was v intentionally going for mainstream appeal over a camper telling you could elevate it to.
It’s selling tickets, though, so who am I to gripe

Ooh, great - it looks way better in TFL Go with the Overground stripes!
(Also appreciate the 2010s Twitter experience of wondering about a thing and getting a reply from the person who does that!)

Is this for Macbeth? If so, they’re doing the very front row as £25 day seats, if you’re willing to get there early morning and queue! (I did it on Tuesday and it felt like stealing vs the ticket prices in the row behind)
