As someone working on yet another review, so many I’ve lost count… we started to defy common sense when we started the review.

Nope.
But I think you are asking the wrong question.
When the challenges are unimaginable, it is unsurprising that you are struggling. That is a sign you are human. You need to unite and protest. Fight for what you need.
James Davies, author of Sedated, explains better than I do!

I have so much help with the kids. I am incredibly privileged and fortunate.
I just want to see and respect all mums out there. This job is hard.

Today, I tried to contain my coughing, while cradling a 3yo to help keep him calm for a nap. His temperature wasn’t responding to Calpol. Little thing was dozy but fretful. But he slept. In my arms, while I shivered and sweated and tried not to cough.

@lucyfoulkes.bsky.social I want the answer. I have a history of MH problems. Onset when I was a teenager. I'm super conscious that the family environment can impact our mental health in really subtle ways. How do I parent in ways that will help my kids stay well?
Hope there is a new book coming...

We need to either:
a. Support people to work from home productively
b. Enable flexible working hours so that parents can work AND look after their kids.
c. Acknowledge as a society that we are okay with US being the last generation and we don't want any more children.
