But no, we've got this mess.

I'm also personally for regulating dietary supplements so much more than they are now and having more transparency in food labeling, allergen info, including in restaurants. Cannot tell you how frustrating it is to be so uncertain if foods are made with beef tallow or dairy or hidden gluten.

Embroidery patterns, tattoos, feathers, certain gemstones and metals have magic significance, and musical instruments are made with magic wood and fashioned by skilled craftspersons. I've been doing a lot of research and still need to do more.

It'd be ideal to mandate stuff like fair trade, but let's be real, that'll never happen here. There'd have to be fundamental changes in our manner of participating in the global exchange. Though, I would say no one wants to hike prices on purpose but... *gestures at everything*

Yeah, I learned about this recently, too. It is aimed more at businesses and organizations than individuals who can't be confirmed or denied as boycotting. Still shitty because those companies should be able to get their supplies from wherever they want as long as standards are met.

I feel so helpless and furious seeing grants being taken away from people left and right, ridiculous new rules on words that can be included, years of work and potential down the drain. I want us to have a better understanding of the world, but the people in charge literally don't.

It's so sad. I completely agree. I thought about pursuing a master's a while ago and was too burnt out by undergrad to do it, plus I didn't want to go into that kind of debt, and I'm really glad I didn't get that kind of job or a government job. It's so freaking wrong that it's happening.

As an American I read the thread, but I'm not sure what these mean in the grand scheme of things. What are the issues with these? Why are people calling him a Tory?

Oh man, that's so sad. I'm glad the birds and you are safe today.

These care tasks are always bandaids that address symptoms and not the real problem (government chaos on top of socioeconomic issues, marginalization, society built on productivity rather than community, etc.) We need to work on those things, but also keep the symptoms from destroying us! 11/14

For me that looks like: -writing all my panicked thoughts in a journal -cuddling my pets -singing in a choir -breathing exercises -gentle task app to remind me to do care functions like eating (I prefer Finch) -birding -comforting TV, Wikipedia rabbitholes -caring for others And more! 10/14

I wish there was a way to unpost after reposting from another person. I should have looked into this before blindly sharing... Thanks

just to note here: the information in the post is false. the us hotline is not getting shut down (there IS a budget proposal to cut lgbtq services), and the number listed is the canadian version of trans lifeline, which is trans specific and exists in the us. canada is not extending hotline access

This is probably the worst idea of how to fix climate change that I've heard. x.x
