Am I the only one who finds it slightly galling that premiers are pitching major projects to an open-eared prime minister right now -- including pipelines -- as a province burns around them and people are forced to evacuate????? As a result of wildfires which are exacerbated by climate change???

New episode! @realityclimatique.bsky.social has put out this year's National Climate League report on Canada's cities. Tip: flip to the last page first for an overall view of how Calgary stacks up. Hannah Muhajarine, project lead, joined us to talk climate action in this municipal elaction year.

Whoever built the flattery into Chat GPT when you give it direction worked with clients before. On one hand, I feel a little dirty letting a computer be so nice to me. On the other hand, we could all use a compliment once in awhile. #ai

It’s your choice. 🌸🌸🌸

“And I’m like, what do you mean, you ‘do your own research’? You running a double-blind study in your living room, dawg?” - A guy walking ahead of me with his friends on a NYC sidewalk in 2021, also my favorite overheard dialogue of the entire pandemic

"A decades-long campaign of misinformation by the fossil fuel industry is a key reason the climate majority has been suppressed, researchers said." I want to scream this one from the rooftops.

Calgary Confederation & Calgary Centre are tied between Liberals and Cons. NDP voters: orange is closer to red than blue. Your vote may determine if Calgary gets real representation in a Carney majority government—or a former UCP MLA in opposition. #ElbowsUp 🇨🇦 #yyc #Calgary #Alberta #cdnpoli

Again? Transparency and accountability are not part of the UCP’s world.

Advance polls open today and the race for Calgary Centre is incredibly close! I am running to be a strong voice for Calgary in Ottawa and I know I’m the right person for the job. Every vote matters, and together we can win ❤️🇨🇦 Visit how2vote.ca for more information on where and how to vote!

This month's Climate Lens is here! Lindsay McLaren joined us to discuss the rise and fall of neoliberal capitalism, the promise of a wellbeing economy, and why real climate action demands a full economic reboot. #yyc #cdnpoli #climate @calgaryclimatehub.ca

Today's US EO orders the Attorney General to identify + take expeditious action to stop enforcement of "all State & local laws... purporting to address “climate change” or involving “environmental, social, and governance” initiatives, “environmental justice,” carbon or “greenhouse gas” emissions."

@coreyhogan.ca and @lindsayluhnauyyc.bsky.social are running in Calgary Confederation and Calgary Centre—both are listed as Toss Up Ridings by 338. FLIP. THEM. RED! #ElbowsUp #VoteCarney #VoteLiberal #Calgary #Alberta #yyc #yycConfed #yycCentre #cdnpoli #Canada #CanadaSky 🇨🇦

This seems important for Canadians to understand. "Even if Trans Mountain succeeds and the CER approves a toll increase, its lifetime revenues still wouldn’t even cover half of the pipeline’s now $34-billion price tag, Gunton said" www.nationalobserver.com/2025/04/09/n...

Get this: Commerce is slashing $ to Princeton's world-renowned climate research b/c modeling changes to Earth systems is "contributing to a phenomenon known as 'climate anxiety,' which has increased significantly among America’s youth." No research, no problem! www.commerce.gov/news/press-r...

Milestone: Just received tech support from my kids. #old

I mean, we only figured this out 70 years ago...

I’m devastated, but I’m also angry. I’m angry because this is an attack on press freedom. If opportunities can be stripped from journalists simply because enough people repeat the same bad-faith narrative, how can anyone withstand the career impact of doing work that matters?

This is, in large part, pandemic revenge. As far as these oligarchs are concerned, all science does is tell them stuff they cannot do. They can't keep spewing carbon. They can't keep businesses open as usual when millions are dying. They have concluded that research is the enemy of profit.

I am not going to trust any sound bite in a clip under 30 seconds. I'm also probably not going to watch anything over 3 minutes. There's your window, election social media people. #cdnpoli

When people don't stand up to bad leadership, it's rarely because they don't care. It's often that they feel powerless. Learned helplessness is the pattern of giving up when we learn that events in our lives are beyond our control. The answer isn't to accept defeat. It's to find sources of power.

You'd think that people who are smart enough to make bazillions of dollars would recognize Ayn Rand as fiction and not an instruction manual.

1. Funding for Charter Schools up 42% under UCP 2. No other province funds Charter Schools 3. Charters increased fr 14 to 38 under UCP 4. UCP building 9 new Charter Schools 5. UCP funds 70% of Charter Schools 6. This all comes fr Public Ed budget WE ARE RECALLING MINISTER OF EDUCATION

NEW EPISODE! Of all things fossil fuel companies should be doing, writing our kids' curriculum isn't one of them! We spoke to @forourkidscanada.bsky.social about theirnew report "Polluting Education." www.podcastics.com/episode/3521... @calgaryclimatehub.ca #climate #cdnpoli #abpoli

It’s time to be all in for our amazing country, Canada. We live in the best country in the world that values freedom, the rule of law, and where we support our citizens & everyone has the chance to succeed. It’s worth fighting for. ❤️🇨🇦💪

We were out at AER today protesting as the hearings on the Grassy Mountain coal project took place inside. Keep the pressure on #Alberta! Write, call, make it known that you stand for clean water. #abpoli #mountainsnotmines

I'm sorry, but there's no world in which fining a coal company just $9000 for poisoning our watersheds gets to qualify as "world class environmental regulations." Yet again, the Alberta Energy Regulator puts fossil fuel companies over our health and safety. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/... #ABLeg #CDNPoli

None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.

ATTN: #yyc #yyccc The Downtown Core Neighbourhood Association is looking for people who live in Calgary's downtown core to serve on the board to help with planning and decision making. We've done lots of cool things in our first four years but need some volunteers to sustain and grow the org.

"Where is the honesty about intentions? Such as telling Albertans you are improving the rules, then mentioning that the mine at the centre of the most contentious issue in Alberta in decades is exempt from these regulations. Article content Article content Is that honesty? How about honour?"
