I have had hard time since the last few weeks just thinking about the future of education and science. But now I am sad, worried and distraught about lives and families of all these wonderful & dedicated people who pursued this job, not for money, but for providing the best service to the country.

I sat in an NIEHS study section in 2023. I also served in multiple NSF review panels over the years. I always admired the dedication & integrity of the PM with which they run these programs with the best-in-the-world experts for reviewing proposals so that the taxpayer money doesn’t get wasted.

It's not just fdr. One of the things the epa did not long after it was formed was document the nation's pollution via photography. That can seem frivolous, but generations of Americans have no idea why the EPA was necessary. This broke a million views when we published it in 2017

This is alarming. I am now thinking if one of the reviews that I received last time was AI generated. What software did you use to check?

This is not only in the grant but also in the faculty salaries. The industry salaries for similar positions have gone up significantly, but academic salaries barely kept up with this.
