I grew up with stars in my eyes when it came to America and believe me- I am shattered although I am not American.

If the goal of the US is to bring manufacturing back to America, then there is no reason to think that China will negotiate with the US when it comes to tariffs. China is considered the "factory of the world" and they want to rise even higher; it's about national pride.

Maybe racism is blinding.

No doubt that when it comes to any kind of technology the US is no. 1 but agricultural knowledge has already been shared so blackmail with tariffs will not work. At least not with China. Besides, their national character and pride is formidable. They are the toughest people I know.

True US agriculture is very good but other countries are not doing too badly.

Bringing back mfg is a huge challenge. It's about reconfiguring complex supply chains, overcoming a skilled labor shortage, making capital investments, navigating economic and trade policies and leveraging technological advancements. Cos. may not want to do that. www.forbes.com/councils/for...

In India, it’s been gradual. Also Modi will not upset the electorate by collaborating with the enemy/crashing stock mkts/taking away benefits from the poor. Indians may be poor & uneducated but are politically aware from. cabbies to shopkeepers, often more so than the bada sahibs.

Yes true but once they break, hell will let loose.

Yeah and also tariffed poor countries who can’t afford American goods and don’t need them either!

Hoping that MAGA+MIGA would work was a pipe dream, just desperation. They are still trying though.

Indians don’t have social security. If they fail financially, they have nothing. Poverty in India is not like poverty in America.
