I'm back in the reading saddle (it's hard with 2 kids). Read two Terry Pratchett books (Monstrous Regiment + Making Money), now back to tackling The Expanse from the first book again.
I still have a nautical book to finish. If I get bored with The Expanse, I might reread Gideon the Ninth.

The only thing I could think of was putting some kind of shade so they're not in the direct sun. E.g. www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/Officia...

In other words, I don't see any evidence that 掛布 is used for any kind of idiom in Japanese.
Weblio only points at 掛布団 - a quilt/comforter/duvet

I came up with 掛布雅之 (KAKEFU Masayuki), a former baseball player who played for the Hanshin Tigers.

I translate technical reports for a living, and an editor from one agency told me off for using hyphens instead of en-dashes.
I also translate the same kind of reports through a different agency, and they (and the end-client) don't seem to mind - or maybe they haven't twigged on yet 😜

There's also weblio's 英語例文 search:

To be honest, I prefer to see words used in context rather than dictionary definitions.
My favourite search in context site is the keyword in context search at japanese law translation (.go.jp):
www.japaneselawtranslation.go.jp/en/kwic
Legal only, but you can quickly see different uses in context

How is the ritual being performed?
"aligned the chakra"
"focused harder" or something else with focus?
is there a specific incantation?
an offering being made?
a specific object being used?
is great cthulhu being called to mind in a visualization?
some kind of group participation?
