I think for a much longer period more Euro liberals I’ve understood the threat of the far right as opposed to the Americans. Idk but wearing brown trousers for the German elections just in case I’m wrong!

Does the disillusionment among many younger people generally toward Labour and other centre left politics create a dangerous populist cycle in politics where democracy fails to deliver and is obsolete in the modern age? I fear many people my age have a cynicism towards politics and democracy.

Regardless of how much the trump movement will last, I fear the damage inflicted on American democracy and society will have generational impacts the severely cripple US cohesion and economy.

At some point someone has to take this seriously. It’s so depressing that it doesn’t seem to be an issue for the government particularly given the challenges facing Europe.
