Seems like a bad time to hasten the slide away from data-based political analyses towards vibe-based punditry.

So - I've actually led Ebola outbreak response at USAID. This is bunk from Elon. They have laid off most of the experts, they're bankrupting most of the partner orgs, have withdrawn from WHO, and muzzled CDC. What's left is a fig-leaf effort to cover their asses politically.

I like the idea that not cutting Medicaid “comes from” Republicans when he probably had to search to find one quote like this and every Democrat is unanimously against it.

Frankly it’s embarrassing how much George Orwell’s “1984” gets wrong about 1984. The publisher should update it to be more accurate, e.g. “Winston heard ‘Eat It’ by Weird Al Yankovic playing on the radio. ‘I’d hate to be Michael Jackson right now!’ he said to Big Brother”

when the american public favors a policy, there is barely better than a 50% chance that the senate passes it. (in the house, the chance of passage is closer to 90%.) what would the founders say? www.shirokuriwaki.com/papers/congr...

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.

If Taco Bell is moving to a 90’s motif they need to bring back the talking dog

I am just superstitious enough that the next time Democrats nominate a woman for president I hope she picks a running mate not named Tim
