the funniest thing is that everyone on ancestry dot com is obsess with this but like basically everyone is descended from some kind of nobility. You have 2,048 greatx10-grandparents. For me that means 2,048 living ancestors around the first half of the 1600s.

To this day I find it annoying that all instruction in Old French assumes the learner knows modern French. You don’t have to approach it this way! The grammar isn’t even the same! It just makes it seem more daunting to the avg US student (who isn’t wealthy)

Every time I have vague twinges of unease abt how someone responds to my ADHD stuff I convince myself it’s just trauma making me see the specter of ableism everywhere and then I find out that person’s teaching late policy and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever heard. Every time!

Someone who teaches like genetics or something is having an optional study meeting with their students and I can hear them asking questions/expressing confusion with a tone of being grateful for help rather than sounding accusing that it isn’t easy and I forgot what that’s like 🥲
