I have mixed feelings about this, but my hope is that people will see this and become increasingly curious about the Bible. God shows Himself there! I I will agree with Peterson on one point, if you do not get it, it is because you have not changed enough yet.

The bible, among other things is a history book, it is the history of the Jewish people and the start of Christianity. It is interesting on that alone. Our kids a dumb, unable to separate fact from fiction, we need more literature of all kinds, not less.

People painted, sculpted what they saw. This is why Jesus is portrayed as a white male with blond hair and La Virgen de Guadalupe has brown skin. No racism intended, they probably never saw a Jewish man or a Palestinian man.

How about me! Not degree, no theology school, just a mom busy, choosing to study Scripture rather than anything else. It might be good to have a lay lady's perspective :-)
