Bring in guests who are the sweatiest spikes you know, if they aren’t playing cEDH it’s bracket 4. But then they are required to build a bracket 1 deck that would lose to a precon and see what ppl come up with. All of the deck description cards are required to be as great as they always are.

I have an Everything Bagel Sol ring that really needs this art haha

Big agree. I think there’s this like…”logic magic” that’s been happening in these seasons that didn’t work for me. Death + Death = Life? He was in the world of legends so he became a legend? Idk if that makes sense but every time that’s happened it felt off to me

It’s interesting, I agree that the pantheon stuff has felt like too much and the “magic” felt like it didn’t work in some of the episodes. But at the same time, I liked the simple rule of 73 yards and in The Well which were essentially magic, they weren’t science, but somehow they worked for me.

I haven’t watched 5 in awhile, but I think 7 is def my favorite and might be the best stand alone film

That might be my favorite Gundam cosplay yet haha

Who let @theasianavenger.bsky.social write this caption?

This is the cheapest we’ve ever seen an enchantment edict in Black, right?

I have played this in my Rakdos the Muscle deck bc if you cast Doomsday and the trigger resolve it’s an instant mill of one person. Then hopefully you can mill the others out as well
comment in response to post
How the fuck? They didn’t have Build a Bud augment? That’s crazy lucky
comment in response to post
Holy sheeeeeeet. But also doesn’t copying Nulldrifter not draw two bc it’s a cast trigger?
comment in response to post
But also, did we need another Jodah reprint??

I assumed they think that the ppl who spend money on expensive cards/decks are more likely to chase these cards so they are printing cEDH/bracket 4 cards into the bonus sheet?
comment in response to post
This moment was amazing
comment in response to post
Yeah I think they were trying to make a commander that works with threatens but didn’t incentivize stealing and then sac’ing the creatures bc ppl have disliked that play pattern in my experience, so this only rewards you if you give the creature back

I like UB historically, but I don’t like the integration into standard personally bc then you have to engage with it. That being said, UB often leads to some of the most fun card designs imho, there’s a new FF commander that’s vehicles and coin flips which I doubt we would’ve gotten otherwise haha

Oh shit, soooo…there’s a second one? And both of them made it off world? It’s likely smart enough to not whisper to the affected person if it’s trying to stow away secretly
comment in response to post
But wait, Mo is later the person implied to have the entity on her and she wasn’t in the elevator?
comment in response to post
Sounds awesome thank you!

I love the concept of this but how do you manage the logistics of it? I played it in an unknown event and it was annoying enough for my opponents that we just stopped doing it for time reasons
comment in response to post
Yeah I assumed that’s why some of the ramp spells that have come out in the last few sets have been “reveal until a land” instead of search to reduce shuffling

Deck list plzzzzzz?

You just seeded the idea for so many alters

Rule Zero makes commander a collaborative experience, and I don’t think most ppl view “games” as having that necessity for agreement. Its not hard though, we already do it with dinner with friends. No one is saying “you’re limiting my fun by having preferences” with picking a dinner spot haha
comment in response to post
I think that a lot of ppl put all board/card/video games into the box of “games,” and typically in a game a person has total autonomy to play the game however they want within the confines of the rules.
comment in response to post
It’s unfortunate, bc we had a newer player in our group who has become more anti-rule zero bc he was told “no” a few times. And that reaction like a failure of mine to say no in the “right” way, but it also required me to try to explain your logic above and it’s a tough one to have.

youtu.be/k1ZGIN0UqJE Video of Jay throwing cards in one of his shows
comment in response to post
Wow what a worlds colliding moment for me. I’m a magician as well as an MTG player and this is a well known but out of print book by Ricky Jay, who many magicians regard as a legend. Very appropriate to compare him to Prof then haha
comment in response to post
Yeah i thought about it as well but then it just becomes removal.deck, but still a cool card for the 99

Didn’t catch the game, but Ureni seems insane when you can get it to trigger a couple times

I’ve been doing a bunch of research for this today, don’t have a lot of tech in regards to cellarspawn but I have some possibilities I’ll reply with here. Namely, some cards doing double duty with life gain and mill, and also maybe some life swap cards?

Also, just wanted to say I’ve really been enjoying the podcast lately and am going to sign up for the Patreon soon. And if you ever need someone who’s up to date on the Thunderbolt manga when you get there, lemme know!
comment in response to post
I didn’t because I’m just getting to the Char/Amuro interactions in Zeta and felt the movie would have more weight and resonance if I saw the full arc of their relationship going in. But thank you! Excited to get there and hear y’all’s thoughts!
comment in response to post
I do the same but don’t always nail it. Can you share some of your process for this? Particularly how you decide a commander is a forever commander
comment in response to post
Yeah I wanted mechanically unique cards as well. The lairs are still good but am sad they put SpongeBob on Jodah bc I refuse to make a Jodah deck
comment in response to post
Except in Jon Irenicus hehe. who’s a surprisingly popular commander these days? Ppl love misery haha

Hellll yeah, have you played much with Torch/Thing? I’ve been enjoying Clobberin’
