It’s a tough decision to make, especially when you’re so motivated. I had to make a similar decision last year thanks to an IT band issue. But rest was precisely what my body needed. I’m sure you’ll be back at it soon enough.

Thanks. As it turns out, the spouts on my water bottles did freeze, so every time I wanted a drink, I had to stop and twist off the caps.

A lot of snow this winter so my training hasn’t been race specific, but I’ve still been able to stick pretty close to my plan & have kept injury free. Thanks for asking.

It is! I love the Haliburton Highlands. I’d just come back down a brutal hill before I took this tumble. Quiet forests. No traffic. Only downside is wolf sightings.

In June, I attended a wedding in Ft Wayne and learned that a former mayor was named Harry Baals. They named a street for him but had to change it to H Baals because people kept stealing the signs. At least his name was real, tho I can’t imagine what it must have been like for him growing up.
