I know that may not feel like a good thing, but I’ve been working on him for 25 years, and it turns out that it’s really true that if you are a kind and empathetic person and you’re fed truth on a regular basis, you come around. I see his conversion as a sign that there is hope.

I learned how to drive in snow, and my best friend who has been a conservative all his life (we’ve been besties since we were 15), renounced the GOP after Jan 6, and officially crossed over about a year ago is experiencing his first Trump Presidency as a Democrat, and it’s going…predictably.

Could go either way, but my money is on craft cocktails. Prosciutto feels too yuppie for an indie folk band to me.

Ugh, can I redo? I feel like Let’s Go Crazy is performative me. THIS song is me on the inside.

This song (and the film Purple Rain generally) unlocked me as a performer.

Check out Modern Family, it’s excellent feel-good comedy. Low-stakes drama at worst, usually with comedic outcomes.

…despite Ted being the literal worst human on the planet. Like, I went back and started it from the beginning recently and EVERY EPISODE I’m like “TED IS THE WORST”. Like he’s literally the most selfish, horrible human being, but they try to make him look normal/lovable. He is not, he’s a monster.

Schitt’s Creek I didn’t like at first but it ends up being really heartwarming and good. Modern Family is great and bingeworthy if you’ve not seen it/all of it. New Girl started weak compared to its competitor HIMYM, but is a better show, and I loved HIMYM right until the end…

Easily top 3 ever for me. I would have said favorite, but I just finished the final season of Cobra
Kai and it was perfect and completed one of the most amazing villain redemption arcs I’ve ever seen.
But it’s karate and there’s drama and definitely a stressful show.

Kimmy Schmidt is very positive and funny if you have been sleeping on it like I have. I just finished Cobra Kai, which I think is the best show I’ve ever seen, but I would not describe it as “stress free”. Ted Lasso is excellent if you’ve not seen it, every episode feels like a good therapy sesh.

Dissociation mostly. Playing a lot of StarDew Valley, reading books where heroes fight and win against bad guys, watching movies with simplistic plots.

Honestly, those who can produce alcohol will be the leaders and warlords of our post-apocalyptic world. I mean, you give me wine and shelter, and I’ll kill whoever you want for you.

1: A kid shoved me into a fire extinguisher door and it broke the glass, so the school made me pay for half of the replacement costs.
2: Laughing uncontrollably because I asked a kid if he saw better with his new glasses and he said, “Oh yeah! LOOK GUYS IT’S SNOWING!” (South Texas in May)

Delicious in Dungeon is cozy/cute, but there IS some fighting. The premise is it’s a kind of meta fantasy world where heroes go into a dungeon and kill monsters a la Dungeons and Dragons, but a group of down-on-their-luck heroes decides to start eating the monsters they kill. Its goofy.

Welcome! It’s generally nicer here. At least it’s kinda like Twitter was before the Musk-keteers took over, so like about as nice as the internet ever gets.

To this day, one of the funniest live-tweets of a movie I’ve ever seen. You literally tweeted “I’m watching John Wick and this puppy is SO CUTE” or something like that, and I saw it and was like “OH NO” and then I saw the follow-up tweets. 😂😭😂

I enjoyed it, definitely leans into the horror elements of Alien more than some other iterations.

Yeah…I suppose it’s our own damn fault for falling for Netflix. But they literally had everything! And it came to your door! You didn’t even have to wear pants! I told a Zoomer that Netflix started as a mail-order DVD company and they didn’t believe me.
