Sunday League behaviour to pull away from heading a ball into an open net

How does Miley get a 5 for playing neat football, maintaining possession and pushing the ball quickly up the pitch on the counter but Joelinton gets a 7 whilst nearly giving Brighton a free goal after terribly giving the ball away in our own box.

Good.

For a team that prides itself being physically superior to most, if not all, teams… this game has been truly shambolic.
Tactics has been absolutely woeful and there were so many red flags before that first goal 🤦♂️

This is such a massive red flag, if true, because it’s the same bullshit we saw last time we were in the carabao cup final.
Definitely missing a character and energy from Joelinton, even a few fouls/tackles would have at least made City uncomfortable at times…

Infuriating 🤦♂️

Never been high on Willock, Murphy + Burn has punched above their weight all season and Schar’s regression on and off the ball has been disastrous for a team with Krafth as its backup RCB.
This team has an incredibly long way to go.

Fair to say that a lot of fans, including myself, were definitely naive going into this game.
I’ve even been incredibly critical of Eddie Howe and the players over the last 2 seasons but I expected better than this. 🫠

I think both could have been true, City should be weaker (clearly not) but they would’ve been up to right a few wrongs (clearly so).
I think we also gave them far too much respect to settle into the game.

Because they’ve clearly struggled as of recently, it doesn’t mean we were “expected” to beat them but it was definitely our best chance to get a result against them in a very long time.

This constant flip flopping between Trippier and Tino from our fanbase genuinely annoys me because what made Trippier so good for us is not there anymore.
One great game never changed that. Never.

We are so fucking soft, these lot were for the taking today ffs

Nembhard won defensive player of the week/month very recently and I haven’t seen his name mentioned once about how good he has been on that end this season.

They just scored a fucking screamer

I would swap Miley and Botman TBH.
Regardless, incredibly impressive squad building besides Barnes being a miss (still a good player) and it’s pretty clear from the positions not represented (GK, RCB, RW) is what needs prioritising.🙃

How fucking good is he?

So 2 papers with an incredibly poor track record when it comes to the transfer window post-takeover and a website that isn’t anywhere near as accurate as you think it is, respectfully.
2 years ago but the context is there, you need a good wage to revenue ratio. 150k or 100k is logically unlikely.

It’s defo not 150k for someone who was clearly projected to be the short and long term backup LB, LCB. I would honestly be surprised if it was even 100k, it’s likely closer to 75k imo.
Same applies with Targett who obviously needs to be moved on.
And I don’t think Juve was in the race in summer?

I guess the consequence of not fit for purpose transfer strategy and the pressure of achieving UCL so quickly has perhaps damaged long term squad building more than people would like to admit.
Fortunately, 73m will be freed up entering July + potentially selling a few players…

Signing Barnes for 35-40m looks really bad, in the context of PSR, when that money could have been invested into 2/3 squad/young players.
Even signings that have worked out (Tonali, Botman, Isak) has stunted our ability to spend money in the transfer windows.

I find the Guehi stuff really confusing. There was no bid above 55m despite multiple reports going up to 70m. However, if we had signed him, we would have been in the same position as last season… needing to sell in January to comply with PSR.
Utterly bizarre to nearly repeat the same mistake.

Honestly the same logic applies to Longstaff, significantly better with a run of games but without continuity, he’s just a bit shite.
I do think there will be an attempt to cash in for both players but that really depends who we could replace them with
