I am not exaggerating about the very real possibility there will be no ADHD meds and no SSRIs (or they will be very difficult to procure) under the Trump administration: futurism.com/neoscope/rfk...

How long was the fall of the Roman Empire? Because I’ve been hearing this for 40 years.

That does make me glad, haha. Housing is expensive here compared to local wages. If there’s one city I know of where AIrBnb is the biggest issue (in terms of both how much desirable housing is taken, and the impact on the economy of Hospitality) if you need any resto recommendations I can provide!

“are not dictated by demand” of course they are. There are plenty of barriers for all different products that inflate their prices. Of course the underlying issues are unchanged, less airBnBs lower cost housing+benefit to city.

Hotels and to a lesser degree “hospitality “ are one of the few remaining institutions where you can be a non college educated person, and really rise all the way to the top of the organization. Hotels employ people do there’s much more redistribution to local residents than an airbnb .

Right, but if you care about housing and generally the well being of the city you are visiting it might be worth it to pay more money. Plus if airbnbs were eliminated more hotel rooms would be created, bringing down the cost.

2 bedrooms generally cost more than 1 bedroom. All else being equal.

If you are at all interested look up the name Issac Bernheim. Even in the early 1900’s he was a typical lib haha.

Well my family is reform Jewish, German and immigrated in the 1870’s. They also were pretty judgmental of Eastern European Jews. My ancestors, while not Guggenheim’s, were industrialists at the turn of the century. They were also a part of the early Reform Judaism movement in the USA.

I feel like support of the underrepresented and oppressed was such a strong foundation of my Jewish upbringing, but as soon as Israel comes into the conversation the morals change. I’ve never understood it.
