So. It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year. I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

THE FLU IS GOING AROUND - AND IT'S A DOOZY. My nurse cousin, despite taking all precautions, still managed to get the flu. She almost had to be hospitalized. Really freaked me out. THIS IS SO DANGEROUS. As a former OR Nurse & Mgr, our department relied guidelines & Safety Data Sheets because of the dangerous chemicals we were exposed to in the hospital. Hazardous spill? I guess they have to cross their fingers & hope that someone saved some paper copies. #DoNoHarm #OSHA
