Thanks Hegseth!

A beautiful photo from the Woodburn Tulip Festival here in Oregon with amazing Mt Hood in the background. I love this state. #Oregon

"We have realized that we are on the same boat, all of us fragile and disoriented, but at the same time, important and needed, all of us called to row together, each of us in need of comforting the other.” — Pope Francis

"It's hypocrisy to call yourself a Christian and chase away a refugee or someone seeking help, someone who is hungry or thirsty, toss out someone who is in need of my help. . . . If I say I am Christian, but do these things, I'm a hypocrite." - Pope Francis

We don’t need half-measures. We need bold action. Fully fund public education. Protect reproductive freedom. Raise wages. Defend democracy. Fight for clean air and healthcare as a human right. This moment demands courage—not silence. I won’t back down. Our communities are worth fighting for.

Time for real accountability. Secretary Hegseth must resign, or be fired.

Pete Hegseth is clearly ill-equipped to handle the role of Secretary of Defense. His repeated failure to follow basic operational security procedures jeopardizes the safety and security of our armed forces. He should resign.

Extremists are attacking our rights—reproductive freedom, LGBTQIA+ dignity, public education, democracy itself. This isn’t politics as usual. We organize. We vote. We fight back. Because the stakes have never been higher—and neither has our power. #Democracy #Resist

People spend a lot of time wondering why the left is worse at using independent media to control the national narrative. A useful exercise is to ask why the left is also worse at selling snake oil and pyramid schemes, because I think the reasons are basically exactly the same.

Every single service member and veteran, if they’re being honest, will all tell you the exact same thing: We’d be immediately burned at the stake if we treated classified intel the way Pete Hegseth has treated it.

My mother died at 54 after not having health insurance and therefore being afraid of healthcare. I have to look her grandchildren in the face and know that we failed her. No one should go without healthcare. Learn from our loss. #HealthcareForAll

I attended the No Kings rally in Clackamas County today, standing shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of others who refuse to be ruled by fear, greed, or authoritarianism. We showed up. We spoke out. Because in America, we have no kings.

Public education is the backbone of our democracy. When we defund schools, overwork teachers, and ignore students’ needs—we’re not just failing classrooms. We’re failing our future.

They want you to believe you’re powerless — but you’re not. Your voice matters. Your vote matters. Your fight matters. Every movement for justice started with ordinary people who refused to back down. Be one of them.

Confirming Hegseth really was insanely reckless.

They dismantle rights, silence voices, and rig the system — then call it “freedom.” But real freedom means healthcare, housing, education, and a vote that counts. We’re not asking. We’re organizing. #Resist

Democracy doesn’t defend itself. It takes people willing to stand up, speak out, and fight for what’s right — especially when the stakes are high and the systems are strained. We need bold leadership, not silence. We need public servants, not power-seekers. The time to show up is now.

The U.S. spends more on healthcare than any other nation—$4.9 trillion in 2023, or 17.6% of GDP . Yet, we rank last among high-income countries in health outcomes . Millions remain uninsured, and many more underinsured . It’s time to prioritize health over profit. #HealthcareForAll

It’s simple: No American citizen should be imprisoned beyond the reach of our Constitution. Due process, legal protections, and basic human rights must follow us wherever we go. If our government is going to detain its own people, it must do so transparently—on American soil, under American law.

Anyone else clearly remember being taught about the separation between church and state? I sometimes wonder if I’m the only one who was in school that day.

Let the billionaires pay.

Let the billionaires pay.

Daily Reminder: Social Security is OUR money, an EARNED benefit!

Don't let the last words said by Americans before our country completely collapses be "We were just following orders."

Ooops! Ooopsie! Did we do that? We didn't mean to do that. Definitely don't blame us for doing that. Oops! Day one funding freeze Oops! Ebola Oops! Nuclear security workers Oops! Bird flu Oops! PEPFAR Oops! HHS firings And on and on and on... Now this. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/18/b...

Due process and freedom of speech are very similar principles in the sense that when they’re properly honored they often benefit people you don’t like. But I guess most people feel more protective of free speech since they themselves often speak, but never go through the legal system.

Surprised?👇I’m not.

We are not subjects. We are citizens. Our leaders serve at our consent, not by divine right. Let no one forget: America has no kings. And we will not be ruled like we do. #NoKingsHere #DemocracyForever

More than 27,000 polling places closed in the last decade, mostly in communities of color. They call it ‘election integrity’ while rigging the game. If you have to cheat to win, you fear the voters. That’s not democracy—it’s cowardice. I am not afraid. #VotingRights
