Mycenaean Greek was written in a script called Linear B and it was mainly used for administrative lists in the palaces. There are names on them, as I recall, even known ones, but they are a bit different from how we know them today.

You could start with acknowleding and admiring what you already know (languages, how to raise kids, etc.). Then you take something you fancy. Copy a simple cartoon figure (or whatever), write a short story about your favorite character or what you think about the last movie you saw. Just doing! π

Yes, I saw that and I find it really interesting π But that's nothing for me, my school knowledge of that is enough for my liking.

π it's so cool, that Duolingo has it. I've wanted to learn it for over 20 years now.

Cool! π Every language I learnt until now was either Germanic or Romance. I've just started with Scottish Gaelic and that's such a difference!

Wow, that's not "not too bad", it's amazing! It's so hard to learn a language from a different language family.

..."Gut Ding will Weile haben", which means that good things need time. I think that things like art can't be rushed. Your brain and your hand need time to process.

I see, and I know that feeling. I needed ten years to finish my PhD, where others needed less and the outcome was often better, too. But it is what it is, and I couldn't really speed it up. But I also needed the experience, and this comes only with time. There's a saying in German that goes...

Let them judge! So what? There are so many different tastes out there. Some will find you not good-looking, and some will find you beautiful. It's such a waste to feel bad about it and you give others power over you and your feelings. Better listen to us, who say that you are beautiful π

Why is your art not enough? It is interesting, funny, unique, and look at your progress that you've made! Your art is great! You might see failures, but that's because you're already good. And you'll get better still. But the most important part of your art is that you have fun doing it.

Please, don't take such stuff to heart. She's a mean bully or thinks that it's really so easy. If it were, everybody would be thin. But it isn't. You are wonderful the way you are and if you want to change, do it for YOURSELF. Because it's healthier or you're feeling better, but not for others.

I would love to, but I'm not ready to show me online π
but I have an ordinary German accent. I more or less sound like the wife of the comedian Liam Carpenter, like in youtube.com/shorts/Xo7Vl... or youtube.com/shorts/QpDf-...

Thanks, I love this exchange π I'm very interested in accents right now. I've never heard Canadian English before, but Australian always sounds to me like not British anymore, but not yet very American π

Apparently, we don't see the same? You're gorgeous! If men don't like you because of your size and looks, they aren't the right ones anyway. You don't want such men.

I think, you're very beautiful! β€οΈ I truly mean it. And accepting compliments is easy: you just say thank you and be genuinely happy about it π (I had to learn that, too.)

You will always make mistakes and you will always have an accent, except you are a genius. I've made the experience that people are very nice about it. You're doing your best, nobody can expect more. Besides, the whole world is using English to communicate - native speakers are used to foreigners.

It's such a shame that sweet and wonderful people like you are sad because of their self-reflectiveness, while a****, who don't care about what they do to others are just fine. But you will find true happiness one day, something, that they never will until they change.

People would assume first, that you're using standard English, wouldn't they? And this is already difficult enough π
I still find so many words with a slightly different meaning than I thought and this after 30 years of learning English. (I love looking up/letting others explain those things, too.)

I know it's really hard to find good men, but they are there. Probably not so much on Twitter, though... I refuse to believe that most men are sociopaths. I think horrid people are just much more louder than nice ones.

If men hate confidence, then they aren't confident themselves and begrudge others for it. You don't need such men in your life. The man who will love you, will do it because you are you and you will be the most beautiful and perfect being on earth for him.

This is horrible π° it's the 4th major attack of this kind in the last year in Germany, as far as I am aware of or remember. It's not only devastating, but it also fuels the discussion about immigrants shortly before our elections and will support conservative parties and the far-right AfD π
