Imagine making a flatscreen Tron game in a world where VR exists…
(Yes I know the economics aren’t there to make it in VR)

That is really nice if your platform can afford transparency (distant mobile VR sobbing)

Beautiful, I had this one when manipulating text the wing way…

I use RustRover frequently, but it has some issues with advanced macros.
A pleasant alternative for me is currently Zed.
Any other nice rust IDE?

Don’t forget that unity is, to my knowledge, the first game engine which went for an IPO and is publicly traded. The demands of the stock market are very difficult to meet, especially after the hype phase is over.
I don’t think there ever was a profitable game engine which persisted for a long time.

Ok native iOS app is in testing:

And thank you for your crates and templates, they were a big help getting it to mobile!

If you prefer to play in the browser or android, just click the link for itch:

That is definitely planned, just didn’t have time for it yet 😅. Also better leaderboards where you can get your rank among other players instead of just the top 10 etc.
I just need to find more time to work on it 😊

Fascinating ☺️

Thank you! That took me nearly more time than to implement the game 😅. Lots to learn but the bevy templates were a huge help.

For the moment I don’t know the challenges I will be facing 😅. Only experienced with the meta quest store and steam for now. Once I know what the hard problems are for mobile we certainly can have a chat ☺️

Potentially yes, if enough people enjoy it (and there is quite some more things I want to experiment with).
Did you have any issues with the browser based version on the phone? (Performance, sound or similar?)

That is fantastic to hear 😊

Sometimes I wish I could do that with my current project 😅

Currently we still hope to start a closed beta before the end of the year/early next year.
It’s currently a vr only game, would you be interested to be part of the beta?

We are using hand tracking on the quest to do exercises for patients with a unity app (bevy’s rendering is still not there yet for a mobile vr headset)

My the cell was pink, fascinating book but so freaking heavy.
But what are anti cancers?

Would agree, built a medical dashboard for a health research project in bevy + egui and soon (hopefully) release a multiplayer game in unity ecs.
Unity ecs has been a pain to work with but most of the problems encountered stem incomplete features, not the actual ecs paradigm which is fantastic.

It’s free at the moment, so go and grab it!

Then I would love to be added, as we plan soon to release our beta and are looking for players to try it out and give feedback ☺️

Ideally we would maybe also have how many entities are processed by a system (maybe as long as it’s in a populated query?)
Even better would be if systems could be deactivated from the graph.
Probably not possible, but would be nice 😅

Thank you for sharing! Looks fascinating!

A small thing but which I really like is to have populated or singleton queries which only run the systems of there are entities to query or the singleton exists.

Required components is certainly a great feature. But also the ability to animate anything now with very little boilerplate is very cool.

Best is always a very difficult thing to define.
If you enjoy ecs and don’t mind having a code first engine (for the time being) bevy is certainly one of the best.
But if you need an editor, godot has also support for rust.
Personally I would go with bevy.

Indeed, or another plugin. Haven’t ventured in to audio yet with bevy, so I’m curious if the built in solution works for you?

To be fair developers have often a similar desire and envy but limited time to learn to create the awesome looking things the tech artists and 3d artists do.

Don’t think they could mess up anymore than what happened last year.
Pretty sure anything more “human” in communication would certainly do less harm than their now backtracked disaster of last year.
So I don’t get what could possible be afraid of.
