What I meant in my original tweet is that the SS ban should've been longer from the start. IPL re banning them almost a year after they first banned and unbanned without reason is gonna end up hurting minorities more than u realize, I already explained it further in Droid's thread
comment in response to
post
that involves how minorities are treated and how the people in power of the scene keep making terrible decision after terrible decision. If you want to discuss it I am open to it for sure in my dms or replies just don't treat this as a twitter dunk is all ty for understanding

I just read, I don't think u should keep this tweet up if u didn't know some factors involved in this that made u misinterpret the argument because like Joy said, it feels like you and Spectra were trying to get a dunk/gotcha on me. I don't think we should be doing this when we're touching a subject

You don't have to forgive the people in question, but you also shouldn't push for these people to be the target of meaningless bans without basis after they've served their time. This creates an environment where past offenders shouldn't seek growth because it doesnt matter anyways
comment in response to

And that sets a dangerous precedent for the targeting of minorities in the community. You cannot in good faith advocate for a healthier scene but also push for people to catch stray bans years after their offense. Keep in mind what Jared and q did was in 2020, not 2024.

I don't think this is the hill you want to die on, if we as a community want a more accepting scene of minorities, we should be advocating for growth and reform of offenders. Doing what IPL did is basically saying "No matter what you've done to grow, you are always at risk of getting banned again"

Everything or mostly everything about the Jackpot bans is and was performative and even now. Some players have done far worse but you won't see them catch stray bans like q and jared (Heller) The opposite is also true, some people got longer bans for less. (Santana) It's not balck or white

Not only that but this isn't what my post was about in the first place. Placing a sanction on players is fine. But if they've served said sanction and have shown integrity and growth, banning these players again without reason is not fair and pushes people to not seek growth for their past actions
comment in response to
post
This was me yes and I still think in general the bans were short, (2 and 3 months). I think it should've been 6+ for everyone involved.
It has now been a year since the Jackpot thing happened and it is clear Jared and Q have shown growth and integrity and held themselves accountable.

I think there should be investigations conducted and then bring up the evidence to the person to get their version of the story then judge based on that
comment in response to

I don't think this is a fair comparison, I dislike heavily how scep handles their bans sometimes but I don't think we should be comparing this to discrimination based on minorities. I think Scep being a TO is fine I think the problem is when it comes to their banning policy (ban first talk later)

YouTube is the only platform where I have @Octa and I plan on keeping my Splatoon channel up but going on an indefinite hiatus. As for my other socials, bluesky will be the only other one where you will be able to find me under "Octa" I will be rebranding my twt, tiktok, patreon, ko-fi and others

I can't express how bad certain clam maps were in terms of framerate. I literally avoid playing rotations with certain maps bc of how inconsistent the framerate can be (mahi clams is the biggest offender here)

I'm sure you know why I didn't mention prices for PC. It is easier to avoid spending thousands of dollars on games on PC for various reasons and whether u decide if it's ethical or not to give money to billion dollar corporations is up to you

My pc cost me around 2000$, My switch experience has cost me around 1000$ without counting the online subscriptions since 2018 (around an extra 200$) so yeah its true that its less expensive but a good pc can last you much longer without paying that much more
