If they cut defence spending how else will they support atrocity crimes in the global south?
comment in response to post
It’s unbelievable how atrocities seem to gain global attention on the basis of the identity of the victims/perpetrators rather than objective conditions. Sad to see how bad the situation in Sudan is and the simultaneous lack of coverage.

Peacemaker Trump is back at it with the aggressive undertones.

Probably because everyone is scared to travel to the US unless they are white Christian zionists

The US’ freedom house score is competing with the S&P 500 for who can fall farther

How much of an opportunity does this provide for China in your eyes?

How do we combat them hating vaccines? How do we combat them hating "experts"? This is basically like trying to argue someone out of their religion, and goes way, waaaay, beyond just the CBC.

Omg that is a great graphic. I agree, people care more about staying true to their ideology than they do about choosing the best option.

Does he not realize that unlike the effects of pressure on universities and law firms, foreign countries can operate and foster relations elsewhere? Trump seems to be stuck in a utopia where the US is still the center of the universe. Very Putin-esque.

Wow all these responses! Thanks guys

Yeah it’s getting pretty dicey in the West with all this spending and debt. I have a suspicion that China is going to benefit tremendously once the dust settled.

I am sceptical towards insulting conservatives for falling victim to right wing propaganda, but I agree that the media situation in Canada is much better than the US and that we ought to combat the PP indoctrination by actually explaining why.

That’s the issue, how are we to de-propagate false realities? It’s a tough task.

Thanks! I’m always looking for ways to refute conservative arguments with sources haha

I’m scared that the conservatives are going to weaponize this continued funding in order to propagate that the CBC is biased towards the liberals. How do we combat this?

Not just Americans, the whole world will be negatively impacted. Look at what happened in the late 20s early 30s.

the only thing worse than aggression is appeasement.

"at risk of breaching intl law" is an INCREDIBLE (not in a good way) thing to say given what's been happening

Thank you very much for the response! I agree that my question did not achieve much vis-a-vis justification, since the intimidation of students under any pretence is hardly justifiable.

This article is truly interesting. One question, considering these polls have been taken during a time when Israel/Palestine dominates public discourse of conflict, how many respondents might fail to have differentiated between ā€˜Zionists’ and ā€˜Jewish students’? How valuable is this distinction?

holy shit my measure of what constitutes a 'bad' US government official is so askew at this point lmao.

I agree with Begin being a horrible man, but how does that relate to Zionists collaborating with Hitler? Didn’t he free to Soviet Poland and then later to Palestine for colonial purposes?

However, look at what sen. Cory Booker is doing today! What a legend for speaking out with such passion, no matter if you agree or not with his views he ought to be praised for his performance.

Trump is intentionally committing bureaucratic suicide, I’m not surprised that his bureaucrats are scared.
comment in response to post
Very true, and the reason they think that way is because the government promotes that narrative. I wouldn’t be surprised if the ā€œwar on terrorā€ has been the most profitable doctrine of the US since the turn of the millennium

Countries will choose predictable allies over unpredictable allies any day. I don’t see a world where China doesn’t gain the upper hand here.

Probably because they fail time and time again to separate themselves with elites and associate themselves with the working class. Where tf is the support for unions etc? Why can’t they just condemn Israel? It’s because they don’t seem to care about public opinion. Bernie is right, money corrupts
