I would like to think it's this understanding of justice the authors of the Constitution had in mind and, given that they included "promot[ing] the general Welfare" as one of the other goals of this "more perfect Union", I might be correct.

In Hebrew Scripture, the word "mishpat" is translated as "justice" in English versions. Mishpat signifies fairness, equity, and impartiality when applied in a societal context.
