It looks like we are very close to getting a new print run of the Twisted Retreat deluxe hardcover of EVERY HOUSE IS HAUNTED. If you haven't already signed up for the waiting list, I strongly suggest you do it now and help make this new print run happen. twistedretreat.com/products/eve...

Be as weird as hell today. Make him proud.

I mainly agreed with Roger Ebert, but his overall dismissal of David Lynch was one place where he missed the mark: Lynch's ugliness and his beauty are part of the same spectrum, one that posits human emotion/imagination as something supernatural. It makes saints and devils of us all.

Monster-sized thanks to Carson Buckingham for the great review of SYCAMORE over at Hellnotes. "Sycamore is a blend of the supernatural and noir genres, creating something wonderfully new. Think Humphrey Bogart hanging out with Shirley Jackson and you’ve got the idea." hellnotes.com/book-review-...

Currently reading: THE NEW GOD, by Jeffrey Thomas.

For those who missed out on the special edition of EVERY HOUSE IS HAUNTED, Twisted Retreat has a waiting list for a potential new print run. I say potential because it will only happen if there's enough interest. So if you're interested, get your name on the list! twistedretreat.com/products/eve...

There have been many wonderful things said about Andrew Pyper these last few days. Here’s a beautiful tribute from Craig Davidson: www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/arti...

As the author of a series whose first book just came out, I can't stress how important this is. SYCAMORE is out now, and if you want more Black Lands books in the future, I strong recommend picking up a copy.

It’s been 14 years since BLOODSHOT and HELLBENT came out, and at least once a month I *still* get an email or two asking why there aren’t any more of those books. Anyway, please don’t wait years to buy GRAVE RESERVATIONS and FLIGHT RISK if you want a series. www.simonandschuster.com/books/Grave-...

A sad day for all who had the privilege of knowing Andrew Pyper—a talented, kind, generous, genuine and joyful person, gone too soon and already missed. Please consider donating to Tree Canada in Andrew's name: justgiving.com/campaign/and...

Very excited to announce that my short story, "Lost You Again," will appear in The Dark next month. No better way to end the year than with a story acceptance to a market I've long wanted to crack. Thank you to Sean Wallace for taking the story.

It is with a very heavy heart that I share the passing of the beautiful, talented, kind and loving Olivia Hussey on December 27. One of the loveliest people I’ve ever known, let alone had the honor and pleasure to work with. Special condolences to daughter India Eisley and her partner David Eisley.

Happy Christmas from our family to yours! (We let Gozer do the family selfie this year.)

You know, if you're really having a tough Xmas or hate it (for whatever reason), this might cheer you up: tinyurl.com/5n7pb3ps

Yuletide Barnabas.

For profit insurance is immoral. Full stop. An insurers' job isn't to "protect from unnecessary care"; it is to pay for customers care. Every dollar of profit earned is a dollar that didn't provide care to the sick/injured. It is an evil industry captained by the soulless for the sake of the greedy.

It was a week. Cheers, folks.

Every day for ten days, I’ll post a book I really enjoyed this year from a new-to-me author. Day 7 - Family by @onemoreshadow.bsky.social

Linked below is my full conversation with Ian Rogers. It was such a great conversation. We discussed a lot about his working with Sam Raimi, the Black Lands, favourite writers, and his new book, Sycamore. www.youtube.com/live/sXxrmEX...
