It is bad that they arenā€™t voting especially since so many talk about feeling ignored. Why is it wrong to point out that one group is being civically engaged while one isnā€™t? Itā€™s just a fact and it should motivate men to do better.
comment in response to post
I heard that as well. You know itā€™s bad when an attorney who is getting paid millions and has defended a known terrorist doesnā€™t want to work with someone.
comment in response to post
Exactly. Heā€™d charge $1000 and call it a collectible.

Iā€™d rather chew a jean jacket so no

I think the real problem is that thereā€™s no content pipeline for people to ā€œorganicallyā€ find left wing ideas. To give an example, for men itā€™s very easy to go from self help to the manosphere and end up agreeing with republican talking point.

I just take the L and hope everyone elseā€™s brain autocorrects like mine does lol

You gotta tell us. I donā€™t have Twitter and am so curious

I actually visited but a motorcyclist purposefully collided with us and the demanded money so we spent hours at the police station waiting for the insurance adjuster but it looked pretty from what I saw lol

As someone who is passionate about educating and sharing knowledge with others I know exactly what youā€™re talking about.

I wish there was a way to save posts because I want to use the replies as a reading list

Iā€™m not sure if edgy humor in general has a place on such a positive platform and I think thatā€™s okay.

What would you say to the idea of the party as a whole not publicly speaking about trans issues and just letting prominent trans activists and figures talk about the policies that are passed?

I think it means educating people about healthcare costs and how they can best use their benefits. Right now, healthcare in particular is a big unknown and I believe that with more knowledge, people wonā€™t fall into the trap of thinking social services are bad in some way.

Same. I audibly gasped and was in awe

I just went to my local library today and found multiple books Iā€™m interested in reading

I agree since thatā€™s the most plausible explanation.

Exactly. My mom has had chronic pain for almost 20 years and has never killed anyone. Iā€™m not denying that he was in pain but thatā€™s no explanation for his violence.
comment in response to post
Iā€™m not sure thatā€™s a reasonable explanation. My mom has chronic pain to the point that she took prednisone and has had almost 20 surgeries yet she never had a mental breakdown. If he was in that much pain he wouldnā€™t have been able to walk in the first place.

I understand your point but the place he was living in Hawaii cost $3000 a month. No one can tell me that he couldnā€™t afford the deductible or secondary insurance

His parents literally own one of those companies that does gaf about children.
comment in response to post
His family and lifestyle is that of the bourgeois. The ideas and conversations this has brought up are valid but his family is part of the problem. Heā€™s not included in the struggle.

This is exactly what Iā€™ve been saying. This man is not a downtrodden American with no hope, heā€™s a rich kid

Iā€™ve gotten things that are over the counter as a prescription because itā€™s on my insuranceā€™s formulary if thatā€™s the right word.

Iā€™m not terrified of spiders but I just kill them because Iā€™m sure there are enough out there. Itā€™s not like theyā€™re an endangered species or something.
comment in response to post
After reading this and knowing where heā€™s from in Maryland, thereā€™s no reason his family couldnā€™t afford the co pay and even if they only had Medicare it wouldnā€™t cost his family that much. Yā€™all they own a country club

I'm about to restart therapy as well so I hope I have a positive experience as well.

Doing continuing education series in churches is such a good idea and may be a great way to dispel misinformation with facts and community.
comment in response to post
I'm a black woman as well and I've never felt that assumption. I love to learn more about other people's experiences so where do you think that idea originated in your life?
comment in response to post
I think that in this case, anti-American is being used instead of anti-democracy. Even though things have changed, when we look at what the founders intended, we know that the actions of the Republican Party do not align with those notions.

If you think this is bad youā€™d be horrified by my screen time.

Honestly Iā€™m just about over hearing about this ā€œdepartmentā€. This isnā€™t real news or at the very least, not news I want to hear.

Somewhat unrelated but I bought the For Rent expansion pack for The Sims 4 and I love how it creates an element of actual community.

I understand your point but I think that children can learn what not to do. There was a documentary about daughters of inmates and one girl proclaimed that she wouldnā€™t have kids until she got married because her mom had multiple kids with different dads and learned from her motherā€™s mistakes.

Iā€™m a woman and I was told to make sure I get an education so that I would always have options in life. Parents give guidance as to how they want their children to interact in the world even if itā€™s not explicit simply by showing their child how they live and make decisions.

Khan Academy is actually completely free and you can take the course here if youā€™re interested -> www.khanacademy.org/humanities/u...
comment in response to post
Yeah and ideas like popular sovereignty, types of democracy, and republicanism as in citizens choosing their representatives not the Republican Party. If youā€™re interested in the course itā€™s called US Government and Civics and itā€™s under arts and humanities in Khan Academy.
comment in response to post
Iā€™m not that far into the course but one of the first topics was the Federalist Papers. I found that topic to be interesting because it helped me better understand the ideas behind the creation of the United States and the types of checks and balances that were put in place to enact that idea.

Good to know. How would you say the cameras compare?

What types of things did you customize? Iā€™m currently using an iPhone and am considering switching to Samsung.

I went to private school for most of my life but I did one semester of public school and they didnā€™t have it there either.
comment in response to post
I enjoy politics but Iā€™ve come to realize that I donā€™t actually know a lot about how our government works because Iā€™ve never had a civics class. This has led me to taking a Khan Academy course about civics but I doubt the average person with no interest in politics would do that.

Maybe itā€™s because Iā€™m a student, but Iā€™m a woman who has definitely used AI. I donā€™t see it as a solution in the way I think a lot of men do but I do think itā€™s a tool.

I won an Apple Watch in a competition. If I didnā€™t win it I wouldnā€™t have one lol

Just added it to my watch later. Thanks for the recommendation.

Hereā€™s an thought provoking video for anyone interested -> youtu.be/WD2UrB7zepo?...
comment in response to post
Coming up with a prompt is not rocket science or an exercise in learning. Iā€™m not a teacher, I have created lesson plans. While lesson plans can be made using AI but it still requires actual experience and care to make it applicable in real life.
comment in response to post
As a student who has used AI and grew up in a world without it, I can definitely acknowledge that I was a better learner and student without AI. It has definitely taken away an element of curiosity that is lacking in this day and age.

I disagree. There is pride and value in creating art that represents who you are. Iā€™m not saying that every assignment is art but the point still stands in my opinion.
