I know it's not an exact comparison but part of it is just us being gouged in the US. Bounty, I think, is Plenty in the UK and their price for an 8 pack is $15.99 US. Still excessive, but notably cheaper.

Spent a lot of time around there as a kid - I delivered newspapers on my bike in that area about 50 years ago - Riverside, Rockfalls, Longview, Hill, South...it was a workout. Miss that area.
