i model a lot of stuff, but didn't model this one; it's the head for my bf's vrchat avatar! the one in the top left is the TPU print and the rest is the PLA print. it's a bird head, so i'll end up doing the beak in PLA and sanding it down for a nice finish before attaching it to the TPU.

that post was pretty accurate! PLA was too brittle and hard to connect, so I ordered and printed some stuff I needed for TPU! i spent a while figuring out slicer settings but now I'm happy with the results... just need to keep printing! yours looks amazing! the printed mannequin head is v smart.

yeah! Matrices is a local maker with a really neat website that helped a lot when i was starting out! other than that, Skyehigh and Kloofsuits have timelapses of full suit builds that were really helpful overviews of EVERYTHING that goes into making a suit. i think it's super doable!

tell them it might be a good idea for them to SHUT UP

i have some nice proof-of-concepts mocked up in Unity but my worry is whether or not they're suitable for VRChat... It's my first time actually working with some of these concepts (splatmaps/LODs) and I'm hoping that I'm not gonna run into too many shader or performance issues. i'm optimistic!

I messed around with a few different ways to generate terrain and I've finally settled on one that 'clicks' with me! The hardest part about these two ideas is getting everything to look nice while still being reasonably optimized. Going for a Firewatch-inspired visual style would help a lot here...
