My open letter to the EDI Team at the University of York in response to their 28th April Statement on the Supreme Court Ruling and EHRC Guidance. If you also want to contact York with your concerns you can email them at [email protected]. We won't go down quietly.

So my home institution, the University of York, has just published a statement about the Supreme Court ruling. To say this statement is distressing is an understatement. It appears the Uni of York intends to segregate its trans users... 1/? york.ac.uk/students/news/2025/supreme-court-statement/

Carla's questions of course won't be/can't be answered because the Supreme Courts ruling and EHRC guidance is driven only by transphobia and has no relation to logic, reason, or dignity. Her questions do, however, explose the Governments transphobia for what it is.

We have a moral duty to physically stop Labour marching at Prides if Pride organisers are too ineffectual to ban them. Pride is a Protest. Fuck the Government and their lackeys.

I love how bigoted hacks in government and the official opposition are arguing on the exact minutiae of how trans people should be segregated in public. I particularly enjoyed Badenoch's remark today that we should be banned from all toilets except the disabled. Maybe just fuck off and let us live

Just received a chapter proof for my first ever peer reviewed publication in archaeology and it's such a surreal moment. Whilst I've published before (and I'm deeply proud of those works), the context of this one really makes it feel like a big step in my career.

If Labour attempt to march at your local Pride parade, make sure they know they aren't welcome and that you stop them from marching. www.thepinknews.com/2025/04/23/k...

The very same Equality Act that the Supreme Court gutted in order to remove the rights for trans people and the very same Equality Act this Labour Government and the EHRC are determined to legally amend to make that removal of rights not just de facto, but also de jure... Shame.

So the EHRC wants to turn the clocks back to 1969, and now I'm blogging like it's 2012: cnlester.wordpress.com/2025/04/26/t... I had too many thoughts on the transphobic direction of travel to fit it into one message. I hope it helps.

To everyone going to protests today, stay safe, and remember to use the day not just to shout at the government (though that is important) but to also forge new links and strengthen your mutual aid and solidarity networks. There's strength in community 💪 On the same note, do say hello if you see me

I was asked semi recently to be on a BBC Radio show and when I said I'd only do it if they weren't going to have me debate a transphobe the best they said they could do was have a transphobe speak after me. Knowing to turn stuff like that down is a lesson I've learned from past mistakes...

Now would be a really good time for cis allies to start wearing trans pride badges and make it even more impossible for the toilet police to determine who is and isn’t trans

As expected the EHRC have pushed out utterly transphobic drivel as guidance which will have a hugely damaging impact on trans people. Trans Rights in the UK yet further dismantled. Fuck the EHRC, fuck the Supreme Court, Fuck the Government. This guidance is nothing short of a human rights violation

the best time to transition was yesterday. the second best time is today. you'll never not reach for any justification not to transition, but you'll never know for sure you shouldn't transition without trying it and deciding it's not for you. but if you're thinking about it this much it probably is.

I remember when the Labour First Minister of Wales said he wanted to make Wales the safest place in the world to be LGBTQ+. Now members of his party are openly manufacturing consent and political capital for our eradication across the UK. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Lickspittle cunt is positioning himself.. Slowly slowly.

An influential "Gender Critical" activist was recently convicted of years of child abuse, including sexual and violent abuse, and calling children slurs for trans people She is still followed on Twitter by the majority of other influential GCs www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinbur...

The reality in the UK right is now the ideology of trans eradication is being given more legal protections than the reality of being trans. And if you can't see that with everything that's going on, then you are part of the problem. Do better, listen to trans people, fight back against the bigots.

This statement from the Crab Museum is sublime. The claims about "biological sex" are the same hijacking of science that justified racism in the past - and still does today 🏳️‍⚧️ www.museumsassociation.org/museums-jour...

We fucking told the lot of yous about this cunt www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Trans people (and immigrants, and disabled people) have been telling you who this prick really is for years, so fuck you if you continued to support and champion this man. Just say you don’t give a shit about marginalised people and go!

They'll almost certainly be looking to the case of Marcy Rheintgen and Trump's 'Facility Requirements Based on Sex Act' to see scope out the applicability of bringing in a similar law to criminalise trans people accessing public spaces just for being trans...

The UKs Equalities Minister has no issue with, and is positively enthusiastic about, the wholesale erasure of trans people's legal rights in the UK. She does however have issue with protesting this assault on our rights. Go figures. Bigots are gonna Bigot 🖕 www.theguardian.com/world/2025/a...
