I won't lie – I think DCA's Monsters Inc. ride is a good ride! Maybe the only time we'll ever(?!) see a Pixar movie get the "classic, Fantasyland-style dark ride" treatment. DCA needed this. Still does, actually. But Lightning Lane ruined its usefulness anyway.

One thing that’s often overlooked is that Disneyland’s now-condemned "Harbor Entrance" transportation hub – from the hedge walls to the start of the Esplanade – was an entry sequence designed by renowned architecture firm Martha Schwartz Partners. Mini 🧵!

A thread of things I agree with:

Eastern Gateway. Coco in Pixar Pier. Avatar replacing (just?) the Backlot section of Hollywoodland (thanks to the transportation hub finally moving)… Nothing shocking except that none of this was deemed worthy of activating the Disneyland Forward expansion pads. 🤔

Looking through the Van Eaton catalog because I was curious if they had anything I'd want in the Disney Parks auction later this month. Some good stuff and then I hit this infamous DCA icon...

Say what you will, but with Rip Ride Rockit goes the only major IP-free attraction at Universal Studios Florida... 👀 If you're ready to feel a certain way, I created a quiz around the last major IP-free addition at each park and it's... dire. parklore.com/vault/quiz-ip/

Rode mansion for first time in late August 1969. Recalled little wispy ghosts flying above and to the sides of our Doombuggy in the Hall of Mirrors—not the hitchhiking ghosts. No one believed me, that is not until the advent of internet. longforgottenhauntedmansion.blogspot.com/2010/04/hitc...

Are these spinning and rotating yet? 😭 Are the mechanics to do that even there? The giant gold orrery at the top is super cool, but why build all these doohickeys that suggest kinetics and then they don’t actually move? (Photo by @bioreconstruct.bsky.social)

Finis, completed, done. Probably my favourite pattern I have completed to date, and everyone’s kind words and encouragement along the way were much appreciated 🫶🏻

blue-sky development for epic is being let out into the world... so cool to see dgood133.artstation.com/projects/DLV...

Today, the one and only Islands of Adventure turns 26. To celebrate, here’s one of my favorite projects I’ve ever done – an armchair Imagineered “build-out” of how I would evolve and expand this spectacular park. 🥰 A long read, but one I’m so proud of. parklore.com/vault/buildout-ioa

Thankful to ITM for having inoculated me against this kind of reporting. 🥰

Standing at the bathroom doors, looking at these and sweating.

I'm overwhelmed seeing years of creativity, ambition, & heart coalesce in Epic Universe. I haven't visited, so I spent time getting to know this park in my way: by drawing it. This layout isn't perfect, but it helped me understand the personality of a park that's now ours to explore. #ParkLoreArt
