Agree for the most part, but the trailing slash indicating sub-content I really don't like. What happens if you type /posts instead of /posts/ then? A 404? A redirect? Just be consistent and either use trailing slash or, preferably, don't.

Whenever I need a morale boost, I just watch one of your videos and dig myself further into the hole. Need to see how far down this goes!

Have you figured out a way to run it at a higher resolution than 1080p? It's insane how instantly natural it just feels, like 60fps was always the intention. I almost forget to appreciate it when playing.

It's pronounced "genome" don't you know

Not unless there's a dmenu integration

Oh wow, even my obscure in-joke names are taken. How does anyone actually play this game?

So glad no one else in the world is called "Patrick". That would be very confusing and no system would be able to handle it.

I can now stream audio from my browser into my DAW, do some sick, twisted realtime processing on it, then pipe that out to whoever is unfortunate enough to be on a video call with me and just wants to get work done. Amazing.

Video is still a mess and I don't know how to fix it. Or whether I should be using v4l2 or libcamera (or both?) for that matter.

The trick: Take some time to configure wireplumber so that your devices and nodes aren't a complete mess. Re-name your devices and disable the ones you don't care about. Also remember to not use .lua config files if wireplumber is > v0.5 (that one took me hours to figure out).

Now the shine comes from all the noisy artifacts that stem from the over-reliance on ray tracing.

And in case it wasn't clear I also know that Adrian Dittmann is in fact Elon Musk if that turns out to be the case after all.

I get what you mean, but I wouldn't exactly call software "timeless". If anything, obsolescence is much worse on the software side. Most software you don't even own, you just own a license. Then there's the need for patches for hardware compatibility, security risks, performance degradation, etc.

What, generic over-the-shoulder third person UE5 game is not an "outstanding visual style" enough for ya?

Looking forward to reading these posts when I'm finally done with the bloody video and laugh at myself for how mad I am right now.

How can Blender run flawlessly and fully utilize my GPU when a basic video editor like DaVinci Resolve completely tanks performance and causes hard crashes for basic editing tasks? It boggles the mind.

10th blue screen today. This is insane. Every clip edit needs 3-4 application restarts and a couple of full reboots. I'm literally just adding a few transitions and color grades. Even unplugged my second monitor just to give it slightly more VRAM. This is so busted.

I am just having the worst time with this. Several blue screens today as well. Render output is just randomly completely borked. Render cache gets invalidated when it shouldn't. Adding a scanline filter grinds my 3080 to a halt. Genuinely how do people make a living under these conditions?

It's not a movie. We'll hold on to the last bag for the day they turn this diamond in the rough into a full feature film.

"You're right, Vaati. We should just remove the option and steal the content regardless." - YouTube, probably.

It's a new box that generates steam. That's all the context you need.

"Hmm, have you tried this entirely different hack that doesn't solve your problem but vaguely relates to it?" It's very easy to just not leave a comment and avoid wasting everyone's time.

Yes, I was on Reddit. What of it?

I was like "damn that's a lot of music" and then I checked my own and realized this doesn't even include SoundCloud listens.

As the late grate (not forgoten) Ryan Buttler from the classic hidden gem "Breaking With The Wind" (1939) would say: "Truly, Frank, I don't care." (Your Frank in this scenario) 😏

Because there is a time and a place for watching movies and offering expertice and this is the latter. You should mind your manners, there's no reason to smeer experts that are too sophisticated for your comprehenshon.

I suspect PulseAudio is just doing its own thing completely outside of pipewire. Either that or pipewire-pulse is a busted package :/

If by that you mean $100,000 in a settlement, you are correct.

Maybe a trilogy. Little tip of the hat to a certain franchise!

With that influx of cold hard CASH, we might be looking at a full Babbune reboot folks
comment in response to post
I've been using pipewire-pulse which should, in theory, be a drop-in replacement for the pulseaudio server in that pipewire manages it instead. My understanding is that pipewire is the "new" hotness and I see the appeal in the flexibility it offers. But getting it to work is another thing :/

This qjackctl patchbay should, by all accounts, just work. It takes the audio from Firefox and spits it into *every* output on my sound card. And it does work. For like 2-5 seconds. I don't even think the patchbay is taking effect at all. Nothing makes any sense.
