When I have said “influencers need real jobs” it’s not even that I don’t think they work hard but a job that disconnects you from regular people blinds you from seeing the harm you cause. No different than billionaires. There is a reason Trump use to spread fake stories about himself in the 90s. 2/2

I did the whole thing on my phone with this flyer so I was copying and pasting stuff and emailing it to myself! So with this flyer I just made more mistakes.

I think that if you are not viewing Project 2025 as a starting point, maybe you are under-reacting.

The fact that they think Trump would give them full voting rights is laughable. There is a reason that the DC and Puerto Rico (ignoring that not all Puerto Ricans want this) will never get statehood under a Republican administration. The NYT people are genuinely stupid.

Now there are professors who embrace it but usually they have a strong philosophical reason for it. It’s always the lazy professors who use them when they don’t want to and then complain about it. 2/2

I work at a university, and most left-leaning professors reject things like trigger warnings entirely. Their view is that by college, students should accept discomfort as part of learning, and they just explain that to their classes. 1/2

Why do so many billionaires reject the idea of education as transformative when most of them had at least a solid K-12 education if not more? I think if more billionaires viewed a solid education as a basic human right versus a privilege they would not have these sorts of silly ideas. 2/2

As a librarian, I see students struggle with recognizing reputable sources, identifying bias, and practicing true skepticism. Many don’t even know how to frame a proper Google search. Without these skills, they won’t effectively use AI for themselves or use it for the benefit of humanity. 1/2

I am absolutely convinced that the anti-vaccine crowd in about four years will say “big pharma is hiding medicine that will prevent diseases.” And then the #GOP will blame the @democrats.org for the rise whooping cough and the voters will believe them.

And yes mutual aid organizations exists but w/ churches it feels like friendship. Americans are socialized to view “handouts” as a failure & that’s how some view mutual aid. Until leftists figure out true community versus aid I just don’t see our forces growing or being active hence defeatism. 4/4

Leftists are individualistic in personal ways, we flake on brunch or ignore texts. Conservatives are individualistic on a large scale but not a personal one. Example, new young moms are drawn to trad wife groups because of support they get than ideology. The ideology comes later. 3/4

If you don’t have local support beyond politics, it’s easy to feel like you’re on your own if things go south, which just feeds defeatism. Liberals and leftists deal with the same individualistic culture as conservatives, we just call it “being introverted.” 2/4

Anecdotal take but a lot of leftists tend to have more online or political communities, conservatives often have personal ones through church. Friends who left the church say it’s harder to find help w/ things like moving or babysitting, stuff that came easily when they had that support system. 1/4

The thing is…it is not like she is mostly silent and then comes out of the woodwork every 4/5 years to say something horrible like some problematic artists do. She literary uses her time and resources to attack trans people! There are period of times where she does this daily!
