Something about the cost savings from the cuts (tiny) compared with the coming tax breaks for the rich (massive)? I think a lot of people who still support this really believe the US govt is going broke and these cuts are necessary.
Hi Anna! I think this is a great draft. I would kindly suggest two things: Firstly, make the second paragraph the first paragraph because it directly tells readers the "how" of dismantling democracy, which they care most about. Secondly, add some calls to action. What can people do to fight back?
I hope that's helpful! Feel free to DM me if you'd like further support with this. I'm a Communications Strategist and part of my work is making words clear and concise, so I'm happy to help!
Jean, If you'd like to offer any support or advice here, please reach out - It is a project to get more people printing and distributing these kind of materials, and collecting a diverse variety of such materials for people to be able to access.
Wonderful! In terms of additional calls to action, I'd probably add:
1) Resources, stories, news articles for more information
2) Local actions such as talking to neighbours, sharing flyers and joining local protests or boycotts
3) Places to donate (if that makes sense)
In terms of the actual written content, there are more suggestions. I just don't think perfecting the message is necessarily helpful so I'll refrain from being granular here, but feel free to correct me on this. I think the message of your words is super clear and people need to take notice!
The goal of a corp. isn't efficiency, it isn't customer satisfaction or retention, and isn't the wellbeing of workers; it is money, always and forever, with everything else being secondary.
Everything around a corporation can freely burn to ashes as long as money is extracted by the truck full.
FWIW, Curtis Yarvin is still an active software engineer and is now back running a crypto project called Urbit (which he created and then left, but is now back cause his ideas are terrible and the project is now failing, so he's back to "help"). Not sure if this matters, but FYI for tech workers.
maybe a few brief lines about each organization/agency with ppl being illegally fired and what each agency does for Americans? HHS, HUD, social security come to mind
This staggers me: when were investigations into Musk’s businesses by the listed agencies started, and is there a connection with what DOGE has been doing with them?
The Congress decides the budget. If people want to make changes, they should contact their Sen. or Rep. The OMB checks for waste of that money. There was no reason for any of this. It makes everything less efficient & he still gets to keep his contracts & avoid scrutiny. None of it is legal.
Right idea. Probably needs images, more sorted text, clear text hierarchy and QR code to sources and call to action. I’m not a layout person but I’m sure someone seeing this can massage that.
*billionaires* you don't have to add tech to it, billionaires in general are unethical hoarders who dont have anyones best interests at hear except their own. It doesn't matter what industry they're in & that includes those in entertainment, energy, weapons manufacturing.
Maybe some headshots of the folks involved to draw the eye? If it’s really important to mention Yarvin then perhaps link to somewhere where folks can learn about why he’s bad, to keep it from sounding too conspiratorial. (Even though it’s real!)
Maybe mention that corporatism is what mussolini desctived his version of Fascism https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporatism ."Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power.".
I wouldn’t add anything to make it longer or more wordy. Keep it as short as possible and format to catch attention. Folks can use a QR code for more information.
I would maybe add, as a headline, something about the goal being to break America. Or maybe even a visual of that.
Comments
I thought this AP article did a good job of summarizing DOGE's activities in the Treasury (as of Friday, anyway)

i have no notes other than that i think it's good
And then examples as to how it's already happening or the work towards that goal?
So much to cover, but that was my first thought.
Everything around a corporation can freely burn to ashes as long as money is extracted by the truck full.
Maybe clarify who is telling us that DOGE is making things more efficient?
How about giving examples of necessary services?
People are more likely to read/listen if they know, in clear and simple terms, how it directly affects them.
Basically reverse engineer all the lies Musk is sharing on Twitter.
Thank you for your work
2. perhaps add a call to action, like a link/QR code to resistance options (so you can help them channel the strong emotional response into action)
I would maybe add, as a headline, something about the goal being to break America. Or maybe even a visual of that.
Good work on this!
