Great stuff Dan. Happy new year and good birding in 2025 π

Not too bad at all Phil. Add the likes of Marsh Harrier, Little Gull, Black Tern, Grey Plover, Cattle Egret, Avocet, Hawfinch, Garganey and it really was a good year. No Ruff or Wood Sand this year though that I'm aware of. Ruff becoming very scarce indeed in recent years.

A bird long on my wish list on the patch. Great find by @birdingnick.bsky.social and many thanks to @martinflack.bsky.social for pointing me to the likeliest spot - worked a treat with smashing views in the first sunshine for a while π

I agree mate. When it works it does pretty much everything I want it to BUT it's just too unreliable. I haven't posted there but I reactivated my twitter account a month or so ago the first time Bluesky went dodgy

Meant "wouldn't like to call it"

As Gert says a decent bird but can't tell what from the video! Against the sky I got a little gull vibe but I would like to call it. Did you think tern species in the field?

My first ever Grimley Knot and my first Spotted Redshank there for 10 years. I would have loved to have been there for the Little Gulls. Wonderful birds. 7 Grimley nfy for me on the day π

One of the best, probably THE best Grimley All-dayer. In fact up there with the best birding days I've had there (and there's been some good ones)! So many times we have thought something's got to drop in and been disappointed but as you say on Saturday it did in style. A pleasure to be there π

Yeah much more regular here now but never guaranteed mate.

Missed out on Redstart, Marsh Tit, Mandarin, Red Kite which could all have been expected and taken us over the magic π― but the quality of birds today outweighed that. As we would have said where I grew up "wor arf a bostin day tho wor it" #westmidsalldayer

Since I posted this all 3 have turned up, plus Spotted Redshank & Greenshank. Chatting to @midlandsbirder.bsky.social earlier we were just hoping Grimley hasn't peaked too early π€ #worcsbirds #westmidsalldayer

Amen to that. I tell myself the same though it may be a little late for my sanity ππ

Absolutely and agree entirely mate . Your situation is very different to mine. Anyhow I still only use these things to follow folks bird news and put out mine so I'm gonna stick to just that...... assuming I have any to put out of course π€£ All the best mate π

And I very much agree with Paul. For me it's of little personal consequence to abandon X but fully appreciate it's a much wider platform for your use mateπ

Push notifications for selected people would be one for instance. But as I've explored it more almost everything else is there and straightforward to do. Working out how to do it took me a while though π€£

I agree to a large extent Brian. I think X let's you do a few things more intuitively, but then again we have all been using it for a long time. There are a couple of important features (to me anyway) that I miss but I'm sure they will soon be here as it develops. 1/2

Absolutely Jamie. If it continues to grow at this rate there are bound to be some issues but the response by @bsky.app has been pretty swift to be fair π

That's one Brian. I haven't got round to putting all my old records into Birdtrack so you have saved me a trawl through the notebooks. Blimey it's a bit different there now!
