Translation: a Communist country with state run electricity completes a concrete vessel for a *non*AP1000 reactor design because the Westinghouse AP1000 design is so shoddy and I’ve got nothing else to celebrate so imma celebrate that China built a concrete tub! truthaboutvogtle.com

In Georgia's legislature this week the Senate Regulated Industries committee passed Senate Bill 34, an important bill that would require that Georgia Power charge data centers for new generation costs that were substantially built for their energy needs. thecurrentga.org/2025/02/25/g...

The conversation is ugly because nuclear is ugly. Georgians are suffering from the largest rate increase in U.S. history of 23.7% for only 1020 megawatts because of Plant Vogtle, a $36 billion fiasco for Georgians but gravy train for Ga Power. truthaboutvogtle.com

So - I've actually led Ebola outbreak response at USAID. This is bunk from Elon. They have laid off most of the experts, they're bankrupting most of the partner orgs, have withdrawn from WHO, and muzzled CDC. What's left is a fig-leaf effort to cover their asses politically.

It is really hard to watch people willfully tear down an infrastructure that allowed us to double lifespans, drastically reduce poverty, and become one of the richest countries in the world.

Also well said.

Well said.

We live in dark times when many of our county’s voters don’t think the man they elected is a horrible person.

Insane spending on transmission documented in Canary media article. When will this country’s leaders recognize that monopolies are bad actors and shouldn’t exist?

Sorry for this confusion, it is likely intentional to confuse witnesses, but the hearing on data centers was moved 11 AM (from 3 PM) tomorrow Tuesday Feb. 25 on Senate bill 34 requiring data centers to pay their own energy costs. That legislation is the result of this essay. Please speak in support.

Hey Georgians- are you frustrated with high Georgia Power bills? How about data centers- love ‘em? Please join join me tomorrow (Tuesday Feb. 25 3 PM) for a hearing on Senate bill 34 requiring data centers to pay all energy costs for their needs. That legislation is the result of this essay.

Hey Georgians- are you frustrated with high Georgia Power bills? How about data centers- love ‘em? If your schedule allows please join me tomorrow (Thursday Feb. 20 4 PM) at a hearing on Senate bill 34 requiring data centers to pay the actual cost of energy to serve their needs.

"Increasingly speculative behavior" by data centers & other new large loads are posing serious challenges for grid operators. @allisonclements.bsky.social & Peter Freed offer principles for making the process for large load interconnection fairer. www.utilitydive.com/news/data-ce...

Good, except wasn’t this always the case?

This is so fascinating!

Wow dude. A woman can’t mansplain. That space literally belongs to you and you’re doing great. How about you tell me why $11.1 billion for 1,020 MWs for Vogtle electricity is something shouldn’t result in my “dogmatic opposition” to nuclear? Tell me what I should think. I need your counsel.

I feel differently about Jigar after watching him fly to Georgia last May to eat cake in the shape of nuclear reactors with rich utility executives who delivered 2 new reactors 7 years late, $17 billion over budget, while he call for more. Ga rates > 24% and disconnects are up 30%. Um- no thanks.

This is crazy. Legislators in Arkansas want to return their people to the robber baron era . I hope the people of Arkansas eject these “leaders” the next chance they can.
