To me, it just looks like a fake out.
French far-right voters need to be able to tell themselves that this isn't the old Front Nationale, which has distanced itself its roots of spouting Holocaust-denying screeds. They haven't changed, they're just smarter about pretending.

They just trying to normalize the party into the mainstream as much as possible.
They're still cut from the same cloth, just with better tailoring and nicer haircuts.

Any 'adults' were gradually forced out or off the ballots in the first place, and it started decades ago. The people in this party now are the bottom-feeders required for this moment - the ones who never had a spine to begin with.

Ah exact same birds here! Woodpeckers in the trees, greenfinches making their first appearance in the garden. The horses in the pasture opposite have taken to mad frolics after a stoic winter.
