Almost certainly the best thing I was ever told about owls was when I met an owl handler at an owl sanctuary and he told me that the wild owls who lived near the sanctuary worried about the tame show owls there and sometimes stopped by to leave them shrews and mice as presents.

If you reduce car ownership by 15,000 cars, an additional $185 million/yr will stay in your local economy (adjusting the graphic below for inflation). DC did it! #trbam #urbanplanning

This infrastructure creates prosperity. The average car costs $12,544 annually—fuel, insurance, maintenance, depreciation, financing, and parking—most of which leaves the community. For every 15,000 vehicles a city reduces its rate of ownership, $127 million remains in the local economy each year.

Part of the problems here is that safer, first-generation rodenticides are close to unobtainable now in Australia. Nearly the *whole shelf* at Bunnings is a dangerous owl, quoll and lizard killing second-gen: brodifacoum, bromadiolone, difethialone, difenacoum and flocoumafen. READ THE DAMN LABEL.
