That’s horrendous behavior and should be addressed by all parties involved. In any event, MS is the one who “broke” the Hillary Clinton private email story in March 2015 for those keeping score.

Wasn’t that (now senator) Rick Scott?

When by chance I once met John Starks, I didn’t hesitate to tell him that my dad, who was at Holy Cross with Bob Cousy, was merciless in his insistence that “if you can’t make 10 of 10 from the foul line you stink.” Starks responded, shaking his head in disagreement: “wow your dad was harsh.”

The cynicism of Bush was revealed immediately after his re-election with the resignation of Rumsfeld. Meanwhile Iraq continued to get worse. We got Roberts, then Scalia. Katrina, Scooter Libby, etc. et al. My take has always been that our not electing Kerry was tragic/hugely consequential.

I heard today that by end of year inflation will be at 6.4% and there hasn't been a number anywhere near that level since 1981 (when it was even higher!) I'm honestly worried about all of us more than I want Trump to be humiliated. There will be some very real pain to go around. 😨

For a lot of folks it was, and they were the difference in favor of Trump, however, they’re in no way committed to fascism. Things will quickly turn against all this.

the Mountain Flyer at Mountain Park in Holyoke, MA was superb. Think it closed in the early 90's. Park is completely gone now, but the 1st hill treated you to a fantastic view of the Pioneer Valley to your left, before you hurtled down that first hill, which was a great/scary zero-G stomach dropper.

If what you say is true, then that’s our biggest problem today then isn’t it? Such character and integrity should be the norm- especially amongst the legal profession, where, one is duty bound to ethical conduct.

OTOH, considering that this entire administration is run by a known Russian asset, staying in the chat and learning as much as possible is arguably the most patriotic thing to do.

A, this absolutely happened and he's lying, and
B, the accounts of his alcoholism are completely believable.

Considering it was put into place by a “billionaire” president who was the most democratic of Democrats- absolutely not. It’s an egalitarian institution which signifies that we are all essentially equals.

To be clear, there are no “great” ideas right now, only less bad options. Nobody was rooting more for the govt to be shut down than Trump and Putin. This is an emergency and ultimately all of us are in danger. Trump is actively destroying the nation. He is an enemy of the state.

Nope, Trump would have been allowed to declare all sorts of emergency powers. More importantly, it was a good move for Schumer to keep Democrats out of the headlines. Trump and Musk own the chaos 100%; It's their trainwreck.
This is a good take on it:

No , Trump and Musk were salivating at the prospect of running things without any oversight whatsoever. Shutting down the govt would have given Trump special executive powers.

Among the sane, we're all still basically in shock that this is happening- as one of my closest friends put it in a one-word text the morning of 11/6: "Unfathomable"

Collapse began when Monty started Ullmark in game 6 of that series instead of Swayman. Any coach with any sense at all would have sat Ullmark after the way Game 5 was lost. I never missed Don Cherry more than when that happened.

Actually, his qualification that it is “progressive Jews” who “are the enemy” has the more frightening implication that ultimately it is ALL progressives who “are the enemy”. In fact it is fairly transparent that that’s what he intends.

Indeed, Biden’s immediate response to the invasion was the very extensive and brutal sanctions against Russia. That they were so devastatingly effective is evidenced by, among many other things, the numerous defenestrations of Putin critics over the following year, and the collapsing ruble.

Being kind is everything. I occasionally have luck persuading folks that pro-choice is the more genuinely Catholic position on abortion because it offers compassion for the mother. I absolutely believe it's "what Jesus would do." That said, I'm a very lapsed Catholic and love Pope Francis.

enraged right there with you man- totally. And the irony of Reagan is his leaving office with an even bigger federal government & deficit. Meanwhile, the insanity Josh is flagging here leads me to believe Trump's antics will inevitably become intolerable to enough folks that he will be impeached.

The sun is directly behind the camera, so we see only surfaces of the moon in full sunlight. The moon looks flat, the same as it does during a full moon, because the sun’s light is reflected back at us uniformly.
The shadowed edge is indeed the shadow of the moon as this is during a solar eclipse.

I see lots of folks here correcting the impression that Boomers are to blame here. We’re not. 40-60 year olds voted for Trump more than any other age group. It’s a given though that every one of those voters was vaccinated.

Perhaps the balkanized nature of Syria’s many factions is benefiting them right now. There is also the example of Israel the Arab world seems to be increasingly acknowledging- that democracy is in fact good and desirable.

Let’s then remove the emotion, step back, and ask how cheering someone’s murder like this is different than not believing an election was honest and violently storming your nation’s capital.
I for one don’t see much difference. It’s all vigilantism.
