It’s all win-win for Donald! If his tariffs by some unforeseen miracle actually raise revenue, revise US manufacturing and lower prices (!) he’s the genius he always said he was. And if the entire economic system collapses it just retribution on everyone who ever said he was an idiot.

It's worse than detachment from reality. A certain level of wealth means you no longer have to worry about the things that connect most of us to reality—paying bills, buying groceries, doing laundry—but extreme levels of wealth can lead you to think you can control reality. That's where we are now.
