Vaccines work. Evolution happened. How we know, and how we know that we know, is what’s most important.

Remember, those who claim to be enraged that an almost imperceptible amount of federal dollars goes to NPR and PBS are currently before the Supreme Court demanding that your taxpayer money be spent to fund a Christian school in Oklahoma that definitionally trafficks in propaganda

While it is understandable to focus attention on Trump’s attacks on democracy and the rule of law, we must not lose sight of the fact that it is the Republican Congress enabling his authoritarianism. Ignoring their complicity in Trump’s actions is a mistake—both legally and strategically.

What happened to this American family has got to be illegal on so many levels. 20 armed men raided their new home, terrorized them and stole all of their money and electronic devices. Since no govt agency will take responsibility they dont know who has their belongs. kfor.com/news/local/w...

100 billionaire families spent $2.6 billion in the 2024 election. 70% of these donations went to Republicans. Now, Republicans in Congress are gearing up to slash essential programs to pay for another round of tax cuts for the rich. This is what oligarchy looks like.

not saying China doesn’t have a ton of structural problems as a global economic superpower but it is still punishingly funny that Trump and bunch of his MAGA deputies had psyched themselves into believing that in this kind of shambolic massive trade war, China wouldn’t immediately get the upper hand

I'd like to see more people point out that every time the Trump Administration complains about leaks—or we learn that another Trump department has threatened employees over leaks—the stakes aren't about leaks at all. The Trump Administration is scared that media will find out what it's really doing.

Folks always ask me what stories aren’t getting enough attention. Pay attention to India and Pakistan - this is the most tense situation in several years and has the potential to spiral out of control if cooler heads don’t prevail.

“If Biden had done it…”

The divergence here from two companies with *very* similar customer bases is pretty wild, you do not see this sort of thing happen at scale very often.

I am for every day all of us turning our first focus on fascism (or, if you prefer, authoritarianism) itself. They are attacking and gaining ground on countless fronts. Time spent arguing with those with whom one could be in coalition is time fascism uses to seize more territory.

But more afraid of joining the Democrats? 🤨

Trump defying a 9-0 Supreme Court decision is the reason I say "if we still have free and fair elections in the United States" when I talk about 2026 midterms.

This is truth. People are being disappeared by this administration. Let’s not dress it up or frame it via one egregious case or another. This is a systemic effort to violate US law, international law and human rights.

It is becoming unbelievably difficult to stay both informed and sane

Spoiler: It is absolutely market manipulation

Tank the market with tariffs so rich people can buy low then “pause” the tariffs and all those people make vast sums of money?

SCOOP: DOGE is getting audited.

It's outrageous that they gave Trump the powers trusted to them in the Constitution, even if just on an "emergency wink-wink basis" It's unconscionable that they're now proposing a way to block themselves from taking their rightful powers back.

This is big: House Republicans tucked language into the budget res “rule” that bans the House from voting to terminate Trump’s emergency declaration used to impose tariffs. TL;DR lawmakers who vote for this are officially giving up their power to revoke his tariffs until October.

LUJAN: Do you agree w/ President Trump that families are gonna have to feel a little pain? GREER: I'm not gonna speak for POTUS L: I know none of you have the courage to stand up to him. Do you agree that what the president said about people having to feel pain? G: Of course I agree w/ POTUS

CEOs upset about Trump’s tariffs sound like mob bosses shouting “I thought we had a deal!” at the Joker.

Congressional Republicans can stop this madness if they want. It’s a choice to keep Trump in office to destroy everything.

there’s a lot of hopium going around that somehow tariffs will lead to building more things in america. i deeply, profoundly ask any and all reporters who quote a single politician making this claim to interrogate how making stuff more expensive will mean building more things.

We were cleaning Chinas clock economically. Many predicted they would surpass us by now, and they haven’t. But this tariff stuff will close the gap. Idiots

March saw the third-highest number of layoffs in U.S. history, and 80% of them were caused by DOGE This was before the tariffs It's just...unbelievable

This is what you voted for, MAGA.

This feels like the sack of Rome in 410 CE…😢

American economic power depends greatly on soft power and reliability as an ally who doesn't bully, lie, and demand obsequiousness. The Trump-Musk duo have greatly eroded the fundamental bases of America's long-term success in 2 short mths. America will gradually find itself abandoned and replaced.

Most people have never been brave. Folks, there is no golden age of "bravery" in any cultural context or historical moment. People are just people and what makes people more brave is if others take brave action [and this only works sometimes].

The right wing influencer machine is telling everyone that Trump is going to announce the “External Revenue Service” and abolish the IRS today. What’s actually going to happen if he establishes the ERS is that you get taxed twice.

Most of the Cabinet and Trump’s senior national security team were coordinating strikes on Yemen in a *signal chat* and nobody noticed they accidentally added a reporter. Really unbelievable shit here. But her emails, right?

There's a reason why they're freaking out over what's happening to Tesla. It's working. There's a reason they're threatening absurd consequences. They need to scare you back into civility and compliance. As long as we're reluctant to cross the lines they ignore daily, they have the upper hand.

If I could speak to the heads of big law firms, I would ask: Is the risk of losing some clients worth betraying your oath to the rule of law? To everyone nodding but refusing to take a stand, I say: You are ignoring Martin Niemöller’s message. It is you that Martin Luther King Jr. was condemning.
