One of the factors that led to Assad being forced out of Syria was that the soldiers keeping him in power weren't being paid.

Because Trump hasn't deported anything remotely close to the number of people he said he would. He hasn't even deported as many as Biden did in the same amount of time. There aren't nearly enough criminals to deport and he has to get his numbers up, so ICE is grabbing people just trying to get by.

Threatening to "liberate" Californians by force from the "burdensome" officials they lawfully elected is the actual insurrection.

The guy who refused to call in the guard on January 6th and pardoned convicts who violently attacked police is now so concerned with protecting police that he's called in the guard as well as Marines over the objection of local elected officials.

Maybe the press should stop attending her press briefings which are nothing more than her spouting nonsense. They're going to liberate LA and CA from their elected leaders? The same goes for Trump and the rest of the fascists. Stop disseminating the lies and deprive them of oxygen.

This might be a more popular opinion. The media could put a stop to this absurd Noem grandstanding by just not showing up to cover these obvious fascist propaganda ops. They're going to liberate LA and California from the leaders they elected!? The press should have walked out right then and there.

This won't be a popular opinion, but I have to wonder if this is what Sen. Padilla intended. He had to have expected that he would be removed. Another way to rebut the traitorous nonsense that Noem was spouting would have been for Padilla to hold his own press conference. This got more attention.

That "burdensome leadership" was duly elected by voters. These people won't leave voluntarily, they'll have to be removed.

No fake caravans of immigrants lately either, yet Trump is deporting people at a lower rate than Biden was.

Well, some of us know. The MAGAts who consume only right-wing news don't and never will. They are never, ever going to change their minds. I heard Rick Wilson say that on a podcast yesterday. The rest of us have to out number, out think and out fight them.

What suffering? What rioting? If it exists, why are you making s**t up instead of pointing to evidence?

They know it's wrong. They don't care. It's wrong for them to be passing off photos from the George Floyd riots in 2020 as what's happening in LA today. Again, they know and don't care.

The Ukraine war is still on too. Of course he was lying, he has no power to lower prices, no president does. He's deliberately raising prices instead. I have no tolerance for anyone who was taken in by this fraud. To quote a line from Hunt for Red October, "You arrogant ass. You've killed us too!"

I wasn't aware of that, but I'm not sure I disagree with the free speech thing. I don't have any paid subscriptions, but I follow people like Anne Applebaum, Meidas+, Malcolm Nance, Jim Acosta, Jennifer Rubin and Heather Cox Richardson.

Ted Cruz is posting photos from the 2020 George Floyd riots and claiming it's LA now.

I'm not familiar with the sub-stack free speech guys you refer to. I follow a few, but they're the opposite of MAGA propagandists.

@lastword.msnbc.com has been pushing back pretty hard on the Trump propaganda machine, but of course no one in MAGA world listens.

I can almost guarantee that US Mobile spends a fraction on advertising that Verizon and the other major carriers do. I found them I think through a Google search. Advertising no doubt is a big part of why Verizon jacked up my bill.

Cosplay Barbie Noem thinks "Habeas Corpus" is the law that gives Trump the right to ship anyone he wants to El Salvador without due process. Don't blame them or Trump, blame the Republican dicks in the Senate that voted to confirm these clowns.

Actually the Posse Comitatis Act limits the powers of the federal government in the use of federal military personnel to enforce domestic policies within the United States. None of Trump's idiot cabinet seem to have ever taken basic civics.

Trump would never deny disaster aid to Huckabeast's Arkansas because they're good God fearin' folks like him, not California radical left socialist hippies. Oh wait...

About time. Trump winning all seven battleground states after saying before the election that he had all the votes he needed is highly suspicious, as well as all of the down ballot votes for Dems. The voting machine s/w was compromised when a MAGA election official allowed access to it.

You can hear Sting on "Money for Nothin'" by Dire Straits too.

US Mobile uses Verizon, T Mobile and AT&T networks and lets you switch at anytime. Absolutely no problems so far. Can you hear me now Verizon? F**k off!

I dumped Verizon after being with them from the start when they suddenly raised our monthly bill by $27 to $139 to "preserve quality of service". Seems like an even smarter move now. I switched to US Mobile. Two shared lines, 10G shared data, unlimited talk and text for $28/mo.

I grew up in Iowa. Arkansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa... all about the same. I think Iowa was actually better when I was growing up in the 50s-60s than it is now, but it was pretty racist then too. Farmers are getting the dildo of consequences now and it isn't lubed.

They already are. Trump refused disaster aid to Arkansas despite a plea from Governor Huckabeast-Sanders. I'm not sure how that figures into a plan to blame Democrat governors, but no one ever claimed Trump was smart.

I read somewhere that Clinton warned Yeltsin that he was risking his legacy of normalization with the west by promoting Putin and that he came to regret it.
comment in response to

I don't think Russians have forgotten about Stalin or the excesses of the old Soviet Union. Putin is something of a mistake. Yeltsin is responsible for Putin's rise and Yeltsin was drunk much of the time.

Bush official Lewis "Scooter" Libby was convicted for perjury and obstruction of justice about the leak and sentenced to federal prison. Bush commuted his sentence and Trump gave him a full pardon.

For those too age-challenged to remember, Valerie was a CIA covert operative, outed by the corrupt Republican GWB administration as revenge after her then husband, the late Ambassador Joe Wilson, revealed the truth about the concocted Iraq war, thus ending her career.
