Sometimes I think about career switching again, but everything everyone has said about professional game dev has described it as just the same nightmare that every office job is. At least my job at an engineering corp can't exploit my interests.

Some Simple Maps I made for an upcoming game of the sprawl #Dnd #ttrpg

WIP for Pixel Art Fantasy Adventure game, finished walk cycle animation and you can now see yourself through the foreground wall. #gamedev #indiedev #gamedevlopment

Ok. Figured out how to make a mask so you can now see yourself through the walls. I didnt notice that the scripts I downloaded from a tutorial attached the mask to mouse position.

I guess your supposed to post your WIPs. I'll probably completely redraw this, Im not really happy with any of it.

I've always been very self conscious about any drawing I do, but here are some mercs I drew for a John Wick Inspired TTRPG that I work on instead of working on things I'm supposed to.

Ive been watching Star Gate and I didnt realize they got both Code of Honored and Naked Timed in the first season. I hope Dr. Daniel Jackson doesn't get Menageried

Why didnt I think of this sooner. If I just write a detailed list of game dev stuff I need to do, I can just put zero brain effort into actually doing game dev when I have time for it.

Since I have a lot more time to think about coding at work than I do to do game dev at home, I started writing out everything I need to do and it sure does takes a lot of infrastructure just to even start describing how to open a treasure chest.

I love these Jason Statham grampa action movies that take place in a Vic Berger Hyper reality. I want every other year, Beekeeper Sequel, Working Man Sequel. Do not increase the budgets at all.

I always love wasting 30 minutes debugging because I made the mistake of calling gameobject.this instead of calling an incoming collider.

Movie Idea: It's Flowers for Algernon, but its Joe Rogan lawnmower manning some guy he picked up off street in his basement. Halfway through the movie, Joe Rogan just casually mentions he has been doing this to the horror of Troy Baker and excitement of Hideo Kojima.

I finally know the reference, when Sandra Bullock orders a pizza from Pizza(dot)net. This movie did not understand how computers worked.

Ok. I at least opened Unity last night but I got distracted by the movie I put on in the background. It's amazing how they put so much effort into that Aeon Flux movie, but also somehow made everything extremely uninteresting in it as well.

Yeah, I think I'm losing steam on these NPC portraits. Ok. I guess I should begrudgingly get back to game dev. I keep rolling over in my mind whether 2D or 3D would be easier, now that I know how to do both.

Remember Sawyer from LOST. Remember caring about where LOST was going. Remember the Fish Biscuit. It It just left zero cultural impact the second it wasn't printing money, like all JJ Abrams' productions that aren't existing franchises. www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/d...

I'm sorry to any new Links, because you will never have a name cooler than the Hero of Time.

Just keep starting projects you started to give you motivation to start reworking on your previous project

Now that the infrastructure is in place for the TTRPG game, which at this rate I probably will never host, so I can think about doing anything else.

One thing I have noticed about the Zelda series on this playthrough of all of them is despite this series seeming have no lore on the surface, is one of the most Lore heavy series to exist. Ocarina is an intended prequel to Link to the Past. You play the Link of the Past.

Glad to know that this is what William Gibson sounds like, I wouldn't want it any other way. youtu.be/5DFSvbkQaD0?...

The Legend of Zelda is definitely a series written by and for loser nerds. You are sent on a quest by weak useless community leaders and must assemble the courage to fight an all powerful evil for the benefit of a monarchy who let this problem happen in the first place.

I have gotten to the infamous, end game collection quest of windwaker and I'm not enthusiastic. I was loosing steam before getting here. I'm also playing the GameCube original and it is definitely suffering from being made pre the modern 3rd person design.

I never grew up with Windwaker and its cheerful world and bright colors can't hide how dystopian and nightmarish the setting is. I don't know what to make of it.

I'm gonna run a back up game of the Sprawl for my ttrpg group, so pre for that is eating up all my dev time. I should probably post the handouts when Im done. I have to upscale them all to 300 dpi first.

Current Ranking: 1. LttP, 2: OoT, 3: Zelda 1, 4: Zelda 2 (abandoned) Currently Playing: Link's Awakening, Windwaker

Finally finished Ocarina of Time last night. My childhood failure has now be completed. Turns out I was basically at the end of the game and had done most of the last two dungeons. Gannondorf is sealed in the sacred realm and there is no way he could ever get out.

Might do something for a game jam. I usually pass on them because they give me horrible anxiety and then make me feel awful when my game is played by 2 people and is in the bottom 75%. I am a bottom percentile type of person, so its only fair.
