I'm probably overestimating my abilities and rushing the dungeon but it really makes me not want to play it.

10 years ago? Legitimately one of my favorite quick restaurants. Now? They're like a 4/10 at 8/10 prices

If there is a series with good games, I can't bring myself to skip the older ones in favor of the new and shiny one. There are exceptions but generally I like to start with the first good one.

I hacked my Wii U and it didn't go cleanly. My nicer wiimote also is dying. My nice wii remote bar isn't working the way I'd hope with the Steam Deck so I'm kinda annoyed with emulating Wii and Wii U. Give me a modern and clean way to play them.

I'd be a lot more inclined to jump in on Metroid Prime 4 if I could play all of the games on Switch 2

I felt the same way but it works and both games are awesome. You can actually play Village in 3rd person but it wasn't originally designed that way so it feels off.

RDR2 and Death Stranding are both slower paced games for the bulk of the play time, but that's what I like about them. The ambiance, the art direction and just the feel of their respective worlds is rarely matched. I feel a bit bummed when people dismiss them but enough enjoy them so whatever.

Damn it. These are all on gamepass and I might sub for a month to save me $150 on just trying them out

It really feels like retailers are not incentivized to make the consumer experience a good one. They'll sell out their stock and shrug their shoulders.

I'm also not the biggest fan of the Bethesda formula and I think Oblivion was the first and last time I really enjoyed it. (Also played Skyrim and some Fallout 3). But that sense of going anywhere and doing anything was pretty special in Oblivion

Problem is that I also just preordered Switch 2 and some games so it would be silly to do that... right?

It's been explained as an influence on so many things I love but I never took the time to get into it. Maybe this will be my inspiration.

The best part is getting 60% into the joke and realizing it's been told before. Do you say something or wait for the punchline and go along with it?

I've played some of the best games during the worst times in my life. Bloodborne and Yakuza come to mind. Give me something with a challenge and tangible / attainable goal especially when you're not sure you can accomplish what you need to in life at the moment.
