The tech girl salary lets me order maybe slightly more take away than I really should. Fine, valid criticism, I want to cook more too. Somehow my mother - who is always on some new slightly depressing health food kick - has decided this means I can’t possibly have a balanced diet

My daughter is graduating from college today and I am so incredibly happy and proud. Proud of both of us, really. If you had told my pregnant teenage high school dropout self that someday I’d be able to put her through college debt-free, I’d never have believed you. Baby, you did that! We made it!

Andor is doing a great job showing that the Empire might be headed up by a uniquely evil being, but the actual atrocities are carried out by ppl who want a promotion, or to prove their mother wrong, or bc they were ordered to. A more banal and insidious kind of evil but evil nonetheless

A very self-indulgent Kleya painting in these stressful times #starwars #andor

Have to give Pete Buttigieg credit, it takes a lot of skill to have the FAA run fine for four years, but set it up so it all falls apart soon as you leave office.

Sesame Street is officially UNION! Workers at Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind Sesame Street, have voted 55-19 to join @opeiulocal153.bsky.social Huge congrats to @sesameworkersunion.bsky.social! “We can officially say that today, May 15th, is brought to you by the letter U!”

This is a ROGUE ONE post, but it applies to other shows for obvious reasons. During development, we called it 'The People's Star Wars', because for every singular hero that gets folklore about them for, say, destroying the Death Star, there are untold stories about so many that made it possible.

No one tells you this as you go through your career as a dev, but the secret to writing good documentation is just not trusting yourself to remember what you did or why you did something. That and try and be a little bit funny, and don’t assume knowledge.

Andor was incredible, man. One of the best things Star Wars could’ve done to their world

of course the puppygirl dev would be eager to dogfood their product!

"Don't right-wing Star Wars fans realize they're the Empire, not the Rebels?" Yes, they do. They like the Empire. They identify with it. That's why they were so pissed off when Andor showed an Imperial as a gross, pathetic little rapist.

yes

Holy shit this is amazing

I think the one thing Andor and WOT has to say that hasn’t really been touched on - there’s now Cinematographers who have figured out what to do with HDR and 4K. How to light for it, how to make it frame well. How to make the colours _really_ pop, like Aldhani and the Wedding It’s so good

Cassian Andor is sexy as hell. He makes that slicked hair designer guy look cool. He looks good covered in dirt. He rocks a leather coat. And the whole time, he's fighting fascism. Fighting fascism is the sexiest outfit you can possibly wear.

The Sith actually perfected monogamy (there can only be 2) meanwhile The Jedi show the pitfalls of how a poorly organized polycule can be destroyed by 1 messy breakup (Anakin breaks up with Obi-Wan = Everyone is dead 24hr later)

We released Wolfenstein 3D on this day (May 5th) in 1992. Here's a local television news report about it. What an amazing time that was. #wolfenstein #gamedev #retrogames

Dan Tehan or Sussan Ley as liberal leader? Okay maybe the federal libs will go the way of Vic Libs - functionally a non-opposition Tehan has the charisma of a wet paper bag! Ley isn’t such a shiner either

it is a brutal time for men they are told they must pilot the EVA even those there's a perfectly good blue haired girl who has been managing to pilot it just fine up until now

there is no "bread winner" in my relationships, we all win if I'm being bred

whan antony green says you've lost before 8:30 without working computers

I say this every week, but how is Andor so visually stunning? It’s weird to say that a show feels “lived in” - it’s usually a moniker for game worlds But Andor somehow manages to make it true for Star Wars, which has never IMO been particularly interested in how the world is used
