Hi Anand - there are changes afoot & that’s a separate point. Defence was announced as a key sector in the government’s industrial strategy back in November. The fund has an objective of securing £3 of private investment for every £1 of public money to grow the economy, support sovereign industries.

Hi Paul - it’s interest on frozen Russian state assets being used to support Ukrainian defence and make Putin pay for his relentless war of aggression.

I hope the Uni can clear up the allegations & make clear its response. It is a key institution for our town and my constituents deserve answers. As a former financial compliance professional it's incumbent on me to take these allegations and those I have received to my private office seriously.

I wrote to the University Vice Chancellor 2 weeks ago regarding the initial reports about a member of the University's senior leadership team. To date, I have yet to receive a response.

I’ve been reassured by the PM's continued commitment to our Ukrainian allies, but his meeting with President Trump this week is vital for setting out our stall. We cannot abandon our Ukrainian allies, who have fought and died in their droves to protect our shared values of freedom and democracy.

• It must be Putin and his cronies who pay for the damage and destruction they have caused in Ukraine. • The Ukrainian diaspora both in Bolton and around the country continue to need our support.

• The UK must do everything it can to ensure that Ukraine is able to stay in the fight against Putin. • From meetings with Ukrainian politicians, soldiers, businesses and civil society groups, it is clear that their resolve remains unbroken.

I will be continuing to raise this issue with the council and with local businesses should the area deteriorate again.

Since then we have been in regular contact with Bolton Council. Last week, I sent the attached letter to a number of businesses. A member of my staff again visited the area and reported back that there was a vast improvement in the area.

As a result of the tour, I'm better informed as to the pressures facing the leisure industry and I will continue to have discussions around these issues with colleagues in Westminster.

We then headed across to the Westhoughton Leisure Centre, where I had a further tour and was encouraged to have a go on the rowing machine.

They explained how energy costs have almost doubled since 2020 and that there has been a 78% increase in chlorine which is why some private centres have been forced to close.

Following the tour, I had a meeting with Steve (from the National Team) Mahendra and Steve (both based locally) to discuss some of the issues facing the leisure centre.

The tour started at Horwich Leisure Centre which is a modern centre, containing a gym, swimming pool, courts and a spin room. It was great to see how well used it is. There is also a Boditrax monitor which can measure amongst other things, weight, fat, bone mass, metabolic rate and age.

From the meeting I have agreed to speak with the Police and Council regarding parking issues and to see if there is a way for the school to be part of the mini-police scheme in the future.

Following this I had a tour of the school and spoke with the head, about how the school use the allotments to give children access to green spaces as well as Hedgehogs Woodland Adventures on Chorley New Road.

The full index is here. We need to restore trust in UK politics by urgently making changes such as banning 2nd jobs for MPs and reforming our 2nd chamber.
