They all know what they're doing is illegal because lawyers and relevant experts tell them it is illegal as they do it. In any future functional government they end up in jail. They know it. They behave as if they don't expect to ever be a future government other than their own.

Someone coding fast doesn’t make me trust them with my personal banking details, but even if limited to coding, if you have “many stories” of some guy rewriting deleted codebase very fast, and no stories of him whipping out a backup, I don’t want him making unilateral changes to Treasury code.
