Goodluck! This is the decade of indie games for sure going by steam charts.

In today's world one's attention is the most valuable thing they have and it's being competed over by massive corporations from all different industries. When you choose to play a game or watch a movie or read a book, you're spending your valuable attention to that thing which creators appreciate.

The best and worst thing about Game Dev is it's so damn cool and fun. Which means devs accept shit conditions and a lot of crunch time just so they get to make games resulting in harder work AND less pay than other fields.

It's hard, especially self-taught. It should take no less than 1.5 to 2 years to learn programming and then another year or 2 to specialize in game dev. Only then you’d have a chance to find a job as a junior. It's MUCH easier to specialize in something like web or even desktop and pays more too.

But you'll fix it later right? ...right?
comment in response to post
Problem is gamedevs allow themselves to be treated badly and for every one that starts demanding better conditions or quits there are 5 other Devs willing to take their job. I wouldn't advice any Dev to go into gaming. Most other felds require less and pay more.

@rp4democrats.bsky.social I wont say I hope your family gets murdered and I get to shame you and your people for not enthusiastically supporting the people who funded their murder. But I sure am praying for it. But sure, continue blaming the minorities and ignore half of America that voted trump.

I am Palestinian, I lost 4 family members in Gaza in the last year alone, and I voted for Kamala. If you don't know the amount of lip-biting I had to do to vote for the Party that funded my family's murder then you better sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up.

The only states' rights they fought for was the one to own slaves.

Now include the horrors they did in Syria and Africa and we can all unite in saying fuck Putin.

There wasn't any reason tom begin with. For a software engineer choosing to be a GameDev over any other field is objectively a bad decision. It is very hard work, harder than most other fields and the pay is LOWER than other fields. People just really want to make games because its pretty cool.
comment in response to post
GameDev is MUCH harder work for less pay and less security. The only reason people want to go into it is because its really cool to make games.

Sister, no one idiot signing with a sharpie on a piece of paper can erase thousands of years of trans history.

The supreme leader ordered trans people don't exist though.

The sane-washing the media is doing is nothing short of treason.

is this the "parasite class" magas refer to?

They exist because of a long piece of metal that spits smaller pieces of metal at their opponents.

No one dares stop you because you're 100% correct.

I really hope you're wrong. I choose to remain optimistic until we see what HTS will do. Syrians can't suffer anymore.

Watch his CNN interview from 2 days ago. I am not saying he will be perfect but this is Syria and this is probably as good as we gonna get. That's if (big if) he sticks to his word. Which I am really hoping he does.

Yup, HTS is former AlQaeda but the rebels are not HTS, the rebels are a large coalition that includes HTS and many other factions including Druze and some Kurds. Even HTS (while I don't trust them yet) has said so and Julani has said he'd want to dissolve HTS when the war is won. I hope for Syria.
comment in response to post
I don't have any concrete opinion on HTS and Julani just yet. I know they were Al-Qaeda but they are doing everything to distance themselves from that and say they are "changed". I am just really happy for Syrians and I really, really hate Assad.
comment in response to post
It's not Al-Qaeda, its a coalition of all Syrians. Don't insult them with that.

That's not what I meant. Ofcourse Palestinians want peace. But you only need a few thousand young, angry men who feel humiliated to grab a knife for Israel to go "See?!" And kill us some more. Also, www.economist.com/1843/2024/07... He is not perfect but the only current option.

Some people just have too high an expectation in life, and when they fail to reach it they say life is unfair smh.

Depending on how bad Trump admin. fucks up people's lives, this could be a really a fertile few years to convert people over.
comment in response to post
Impossible when Israel keeps giving them more angry, young recruits who lost everything in their already simple lives. New Hamas will rise over and over again. You don't have peace by leveling Gaza. This war is NOT about peace for most Israelies, its largely about revenge.

For those that care: bbc.com/news/articles/cx82xx9pj5do My own family in Gaza were harassed because they shared posts criticising Hamas. As for you, you're arguing for the sake of arguing; nothing will change your mind. I escaped twitter because of this toxicity. So I'll just block you. Sorry.

No, I am saying more than half of Gaza are children another quarter are parents struggling to feed them. These are the majority of Gazans, they can't speak, they don't have a voice and you won't see them celebrate.

Brother I was 4 when Hamas took power. More than half of Palestinians in Gaza are Children that weren't even born then. Criticizing Hamas in Gaza is a death sentence even then there were brave Palestinians who protested. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Ga...
