I do not agree. From all I’ve been able to learn, a shutdown would have been even more devastating and Trump/DOGE were hoping for it. Congress shut down would have given them carte blanche. Let’s not rip apart the Democratic Party over this. 🙏

George, I love you, but Trump/DOGE wanted a shutdown, to give them unfettered carte blanche. It was an awful choice, but less awful than the harm of a shutdown. Let’s PLEASE not rip the Democratic Party apart over this. It sucks, but we’re deep into FAFO territory and NEED allies.

Got yelled at by a couple of passing motorists at the Presidents Day rally in Thousand Oaks today. Some protesters tried to shout back insults; I just gave them the peace sign ✌️. (TWO fingers, mind you.😉)
