Many other events happening at the same time all over Europe: ellis.eu/news/ellis-p...
I am glad of the multiplication of such events. First step towards rethinking the ML conference system, which relies on frequent flying as the primary mean of scientific communication.

- pick a reliable team of co-organizers
- book the venue a loooong time in advance
- be as precise as possible in your communication, any and all unclearness leads to confusion and further work down the line

ICLR standard reviewing load has decreased from 6 to 3 between 2023 and 2024. Haven't noticed an increase in overall reviewing quality, either as a reviewer or as an author.

I feel it's a question of chance and timing, not inherently linked to the social media website itself. Current timing of many new registrations at the same time (me included!) seems very good for blue sky. Also, starter packs is a nice feature.

Hi @ellis.eu, we are organizing a local NeurIPS meetup in Paris on Dec. 4 and 5: neuripsinparis.github.io/neurips2024p... (Ellis fellows and members are in the committee for this event). It would be awesome if you could add us to your list of European NeurIPS meetups!
